Vanilly centers on relaxed survival play with the familiar Minecraft progression intact. Players gather resources, build long-term bases, protect land with claims, trade and socialize with the community, then branch into custom cosmetics, crate rewards, seasonal activities, and a dedicated plots server when they want a more focused building space.
What Makes It Different
Vanilly combines a gentle, family-friendly survival culture with unusually strict social boundaries around land and combat. PvP is disabled by default and requires agreement, while the rules also protect the space around claimed builds. The network adds a separate plots server for players who want creative building without leaving the Vanilly community.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.

The main experience is semi-vanilla survival. Players explore, mine, farm, craft equipment, build homes, and develop shared or private bases while using land claims to protect important areas. Player warps, homes, trading, pets, voting rewards, and custom crate items add convenience and collection goals without replacing the ordinary survival loop.
Progression follows Minecraft's normal resource and equipment path, then branches into server rewards and long-term collection. Voting provides keys and tokens, while crates, pets, cosmetics, chat tags, ranks, and claim chunks give players additional goals beyond acquiring standard gear.
Vanilly adds custom crate models and textures, pets, weapon and tool skins, seasonal items, chat tags, revised menus, vote ranks, store ranks, and player customization. The server keeps these additions layered on top of a recognizable survival foundation rather than replacing it with a heavily modded ruleset.
The network maintains a persistent survival world with a live online map. World presentation has changed over time through seasonal spawn areas, new biomes such as Pale Oak, traveling traders, a Crystal Trader area, and other curated additions around the regular Minecraft terrain.
PvP is opt-in rather than a constant threat. The rules state that PvP is disabled by default and that players must agree before fighting. Teleport killing, portal trapping, traps, griefing, and attacks that bypass a player's protections are prohibited.
Vanilly supports player trading and shops alongside a server economy built around survival resources, voting rewards, crate keys, and claim chunks. Players can earn or exchange useful items through the community, while vote keys and vote tokens provide an additional reward path.
Community activities have included Easter egg hunts, seasonal and spring build battles, lobby build competitions, Kahoot nights, movie nights, art-map events, themed crate releases, and other Discord-connected gatherings.
The community is deliberately family-friendly, with English as the required chat language and rules against harassment, discrimination, excessive profanity, inappropriate builds, and disruptive behavior. Discord is used for support, staff applications, appeals, community events, and proximity voice features.
Players must avoid cheating, exploits, chunk loaders, scamming, harassment, advertising, inappropriate names or builds, griefing, theft, teleport traps, and unauthorized PvP. Land owners are expected to claim their property, respect nearby builds, and avoid abusing trust or claim permissions.
The official store sells ranks, crate keys, claim chunks, chat tags, gift cards, and subscriptions. Store purchases are digital server items, payments are listed as final, and Bedrock players are instructed to use their in-game name format when checking out.
Opt-in PvP lets players enable or agree to player combat instead of making hostile encounters universal.
Vanilly disables PvP by default and permits fighting only when both participants agree, while prohibiting unauthorized attacks and combat traps.

History of Vanilly
Vanilly began in late 2022 as a small, heavily moderated survival community built around a vanilla-feeling experience. By the end of 2023, the network had added event-focused spaces such as arcade and creative, experimented with a Lifesteal server, and grown well beyond its original player base. The Lifesteal mode was later closed as the network returned its attention to long-term survival development.
In November 2024, Vanilly moved from version 1.0 to Vanilly 2.0 after rebuilding systems that had become difficult to maintain. The relaunch introduced improved menus, cosmetics, pets, custom crate presentation, revised ranks, and performance changes while preserving the server's survival focus.
During the first half of 2025, the network expanded its building side with a dedicated plots server and continued running seasonal events, build battles, egg hunts, art-map activities, and other community gatherings.
