About Ordinary SMP
Ordinary SMP centers on a shared survival world where players build bases, explore, run shops and contribute to long-term community projects. The current Season 4 world began in June 2026 and keeps the familiar Minecraft progression while adding a small set of quality-of-life and social features.
What Makes It Different
Ordinary SMP keeps its changes close to vanilla survival instead of replacing Minecraft with a large custom progression system. Its most distinctive adjustment is an Elytra drop from defeating the Ender Dragon, which reduces the frustration of finding already-looted End Cities, while Ledger gives staff a way to investigate and reverse griefing.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.
The server preserves familiar vanilla survival while adding limited social, cosmetic, mapping, protection, and quality-of-life features.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The current season is intended for long-term bases, shops, infrastructure, and community projects that remain available across visits.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Shared survival multiplayer, player-created bases, technical projects, shops, and community builds define the server experience.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Players follow ordinary Minecraft survival progression through resource gathering, crafting, exploration, farming, building, and base development.
Players gather resources, build bases, explore the world, work on technical projects and cooperate on larger community builds. The server is inspired by HermitCraft-style SMP play, so much of the direction comes from player-created projects, shops and shared activities rather than a fixed quest line.
Progress follows ordinary survival progression through mining, farming, exploration, crafting, infrastructure and increasingly ambitious builds. Seasonal fresh starts let players establish new bases and shops together while preserving a long-term community structure around the current world.
The server adds Simple Voice Chat, AudioPlayer, a custom resource pack with cosmetics, trophies and event rewards, and an Elytra drop tied to the Ender Dragon. These additions are designed to support social play and reduce common survival frustrations without turning the server into a heavily modded experience.
The current Season 4 world is a fresh survival map intended for long-term building and exploration. BlueMap provides an interactive overview of the world, including player bases and notable locations, so players can plan journeys or browse the growing landscape remotely.
PvP is not the main progression system, but organized PvP battles are part of the server's event mix. Players who prefer building, exploration or technical work can participate without making constant combat the center of survival.
Player shops and trading give the world a community-run economy. Shop owners can gather or produce useful goods, set up stores and exchange resources with other players instead of relying only on personal farms and mining.
Server-wide activities include PvP battles, build contests and large collaborative community projects. Events sit alongside ordinary survival rather than replacing the main world with separate match-based modes.
Ordinary SMP is a 16+ whitelisted community with an application process handled through Discord. It is aimed at players who want to build, explore, run shops, work on redstone or simply spend time in a smaller long-term survival group.
Players must meet the 16+ community requirement and complete the whitelist application process before joining. The server uses Ledger to investigate griefing or theft and can revert damage when necessary.
An Ender Dragon Elytra reward makes defeating the boss an alternate way to obtain this valuable late-game mobility item.
Ordinary SMP can provide an Elytra directly from defeating the Ender Dragon, reducing reliance on already-looted End Cities.
An Interactive World Map lets players inspect the server’s rendered geography, locate settlements, and understand the surrounding world outside Minecraft.
BlueMap provides an interactive overview of Season 4, including player bases and notable locations for planning journeys or browsing the landscape.
Grief rollback tools investigate block damage or theft and restore affected areas after unauthorized player actions.
Ledger helps staff investigate griefing or theft and revert affected damage when necessary, protecting the community's long-term builds.
Seasonal fresh starts create a new survival world or chapter while giving a community a renewed beginning for shared projects.
Season 4 began as a fresh world in June 2026, allowing the community to establish new bases, shops, and shared builds.
Whitelist access restricts server entry to approved players who have completed an application or invitation process.
Ordinary SMP requires applicants to complete a Discord-based application and receive approval before accessing its survival community.

History of Ordinary SMP
Ordinary SMP was created on March 10, 2024 as a whitelisted vanilla Java SMP under PadBro2. The server developed through multiple seasons, including a documented Season 3 showcase and the transition to a new Season 4 world.
Season 4 began on June 26, 2026, giving the community a fresh map and a new starting point for bases, shops, events and shared builds. The current season uses Minecraft 26.2 and continues the server's focus on long-term survival play rather than minigame rotations.
