About BambooSMP
BambooSMP is a laid-back survival server built for players who want to settle in rather than race through seasonal wipes. Gather resources, build a home, use protected land and shared farms, and shape a long-running tropical-themed world with vanilla-feel mechanics and a small player-led community. There is no whitelist, and PvP is opt-in.
What Makes It Different
BambooSMP combines a permanent survival world with a strong consent-based social setup. Builds are protected, players are expected to keep their bases separated, and PvP requires agreement from both sides, making the server a good fit for players who want a shared world without constant raiding or wipe pressure.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.
Vanilla-feel survival is supplemented by claims, a live map, events, fishing additions, and other quality-of-life plugins.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The server explicitly advertises no seasonal wipes or world resets, preserving player progress across visits.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
Player bases use claims and grief protection, with permissions and rules controlling building, breaking, and theft.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The server is a multiplayer survival world centered on gathering, building, farming, exploration, and community projects.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Ordinary Minecraft survival activities and self-directed base development form the core gameplay loop.
The core gameplay stays close to Minecraft survival: gather resources, build, explore, farm, and expand at your own pace. Land claims, grief protection, public farms, and a 200-block spacing rule support cooperative building, while custom-written systems add extra activities around events and fishing.
Progress is mostly self-directed rather than driven by seasonal resets. Long-term goals come from developing a base, improving farms and infrastructure, exploring the world, and contributing to shared community spaces. The server is designed for players who can take a break and return to the same world later.
Quality-of-life changes keep the server close to vanilla while adding server-specific systems. Custom-written plugins support an events area, expanded fishing with bosses and events, rewards, voting features, and a live map.
The server presents its survival world as a tropical island setting with an island hub, public farms, player-built roads, and a live map. Players can hide their map marker with `/map hide` while continuing to play normally, then restore it with `/map show`.
PvP is opt-in. Both players must agree before fighting, and killing someone who did not agree requires returning their items. This makes combat a negotiated activity rather than a constant threat around every base.
BambooSMP has an in-game coin system used through `/coinshop` for cosmetics and convenience items. Coins can also be earned through server activities and voting, while purchases are not intended to provide combat or progression advantages.
An events area provides minigames and other activities outside ordinary survival. Events use their own token currency, which can be spent on cosmetics and can also be earned through play.
The community is centered on a small Discord and an in-game group of builders and survival players. Discord is used for build showcases, farm designs, announcements, support tickets, and appeals, while staff members remain active players on the server.
The main rules prohibit griefing, stealing, harassment, cheats, exploits, duplication, vote farming, and excessive lag machines. Players should keep bases at least 200 blocks apart unless invited closer, leave public farms usable, and keep chat and builds broadly all-ages. PvP requires mutual consent.
The store sells coins, cosmetics, and convenience items through one-time purchases processed by Tebex. The server does not sell combat or progression advantages, and its public store policy is explicitly anti-pay-to-win.
Opt-in PvP lets players enable or agree to player combat instead of making hostile encounters universal.
Both BambooSMP players must agree before fighting, and unauthorized kills require returning the victim's items.
Players can control whether their current location marker is visible on a server's live map.
Players can use /map hide to conceal their BambooSMP map marker and /map show to restore it while continuing to play normally.
An online map that displays the current Minecraft world and helps players inspect locations, settlements, and geographic relationships.
BambooSMP provides a live map for its tropical island world, with commands to hide or restore a player's map marker.
A dedicated event currency rewards participation in special activities and can be exchanged for event-related rewards.
BambooSMP events use a separate token currency earned through play and spent on cosmetics.
A base-spacing rule requires players to maintain a minimum distance between settlements unless neighboring players approve closer construction.
BambooSMP asks players to keep bases at least 200 blocks apart unless the nearby player invites them closer.
A fishing system with additional content, rewards, or progression that extends Minecraft’s standard fishing activity.
BambooSMP's custom systems extend fishing with additional rewards, bosses, and fishing-focused events.
Public farms are shared agricultural or resource-producing facilities that community members can use for common survival needs.
BambooSMP includes public farms and asks players to keep them usable by the wider community.
