About BareBonesMP
BareBonesMP centers on a screened, 18+ survival SMP where players build, explore, trade, and collaborate through a mostly vanilla Minecraft progression. Its current network also includes Lifesteal Factions, a more competitive mode built around faction warfare, raiding, and PvP. The survival server is currently presented in Season 10.
What Makes It Different
The server combines a carefully screened, vanilla-oriented survival community with a separate warfare-focused Lifesteal Factions experience. Even the survival world adds practical systems such as player shops, mailboxes, bed-based homes, instanced structure loot, and consent-based PvP without turning progression into a heavily menu-driven RPG.
Factions is a Minecraft multiplayer mode where players join organized groups, build shared bases, and compete with rival groups for territory, resources, and strategic advantage.
The competitive network mode is explicitly faction-based and focuses on coordinated warfare, PvP, and raiding.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.
Quality-of-life systems and custom content are layered onto ordinary survival without replacing the core Minecraft progression.
Lifesteal is a Minecraft PvP survival mode where player kills and deaths change a player’s maximum health.
The network currently advertises a separate Lifesteal Factions mode as a major competitive offering.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The primary experience is a long-running, screened survival SMP centered on building, exploration, trade, and collaboration.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The main server follows traditional Minecraft survival progression through gathering, crafting, exploration, building, and hostile-mob survival.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
The survival server supports consent-based PvP, while Lifesteal Factions provides a separate competitive PvP environment.
Player Shops are player-run places or interfaces where players sell items to other players for currency or agreed trade goods.
Players use Shop Chests to list items, set prices, search listings, delegate access, and manage proceeds.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Shop prices, player sales, shop proceeds, diamond bounties, and related rewards create a meaningful trading economy.
The main SMP follows ordinary Minecraft survival with quality-of-life additions layered on top. Players can send items through mailbox systems at spawn, sort inventories and chests with a button, complete daily bounties for diamond rewards, explore structures with per-player loot, and use bed-based homes for travel. Dungeons, taverns, custom drops, and community projects add optional goals beyond mining and building.
Progression is primarily survival-driven, with players gathering resources, building bases, exploring the world, trading through shops, and taking on optional bounties and custom loot activities. Daily tasks can reward diamonds, while homes begin with one per member and can be expanded through the vote shop. Supporters receive more starting home slots and can unlock additional slots.
BareBonesMP uses Simple Voice Chat, a server resource pack with additional content, custom animations, an inventory and chest organization tool, mailboxes, bed-based homes, and Shop Chests. Other custom touches include invisible item frames, rare mob-head and special-item drops, husks that drop sand, and desert temples designed to support husk farms.
The main world is a vanilla-style survival environment currently presented in Season 10. Structures can provide separate loot instances for individual players, while desert temples and husks support renewable sand farming. Dungeons and taverns are also part of the documented world content. No live world viewer is exposed in the supplied server resources.
PvP on the primary survival SMP is opt-in. Players can toggle PvP, and both participants must have PvP enabled and agree to the fight. Normal deaths protect a player's grave from other players, while a PvP killer can access the victim's grave. Players have one hour to recover a grave before its items are dropped normally. Lifesteal Factions provides the network's separate competitive PvP and raiding environment.
Player-run Shop Chests provide the clearest trading system on the survival server. A shop can be crafted with four emeralds and a chest, configured with prices and stack amounts, searched through the shop system, and upgraded to a larger hidden inventory. Players can trust others to manage stock, store proceeds in a shop vault, and review transaction logs. Diamonds are also used for daily bounty rewards and shop prices.
Community events, giveaways, and games with prizes are part of the network's social calendar. Events and community coordination are centered on Discord, alongside whitelist applications and announcements.
The primary SMP is built around an 18+ whitelist and a Discord-centered community. Applicants join Discord and submit a whitelist application before entering the main survival server. BareBonesMP presents the community as small and close-knit, with collaboration, shared projects, and support for new players as recurring themes.
The server prohibits exploits, hacking and cheating, advertising, spam, intentional lagging or crashing, discrimination, harassment, griefing, and stealing. PvP baiting is forbidden, and survival PvP requires mutual agreement with both players enabled for combat. Punishments follow a three-strike structure: a three-day ban for the first strike, a seven-day ban for the second, and a permanent community ban for the third.
BareBonesMP operates an official Tebex store and describes purchases and donations as support for hosting, advertising, custom content, and other server expenses. The network positions itself against pay-to-win design. Vote-shop and supporter benefits include additional home slots, while the exact current store catalogue should be checked before purchase.
Opt-in PvP lets players enable or agree to player combat instead of making hostile encounters universal.
Both survival players must enable PvP and agree to the fight; enabled players are visibly marked with redstone particles.
Grave recovery preserves a player's dropped belongings at a death location so they can return and reclaim them after dying.
Normal deaths create graves protected from other players; PvP killers may access victims' graves, which remain recoverable for one hour.
An access restriction requiring players to meet an age requirement and receive approval before joining the server.
The primary survival SMP is restricted to adults aged 18 or older and requires a Discord-based whitelist application before entry.
Bed-based homes use beds as persistent return points or travel destinations within a survival world.
Members begin with one bed-based home, while additional home slots can be unlocked through the vote shop or supporter benefits.
Player mailboxes provide dedicated storage or delivery points for sending items between players or receiving game-world deliveries.
Players can craft colored mailboxes and send items through mail bins located at spawn.
Instanced structure loot gives separate, player-specific rewards so one player's discovery does not consume another's available loot.
Explored structures provide separate loot instances for individual players, giving each player their own structure rewards.
Shop search lets players locate available listings across player-run stores by item or other marketplace criteria.
The Shop Chest system provides searchable listings so players can find items being sold by other players.
Daily bounties assign recurring tasks and offer rewards for completing the day's objectives.
Randomly assigned daily bounties give survival players optional tasks that can reward diamonds when completed.
Inventory organization tools let players sort or arrange items in inventories and storage containers more efficiently.
A button-based organization tool sorts player inventories and chests, reducing routine manual rearrangement during survival play.
Shop access permissions let owners authorize trusted players to manage stock, sales, or other store operations.
Shop owners can designate trusted users to help manage Shop Chests without giving up control of the store.
Custom mob drops give specific enemies additional server-defined loot that supports collection, crafting, trading, or progression.
Rare mob-head and special-item drops provide additional collectible rewards beyond ordinary Minecraft mob loot.
Renewable sand systems provide a repeatable server-supported way to obtain sand without relying solely on finite natural deposits.
Husks and specially designed desert temples support renewable sand farming in the vanilla-style survival world.
Shop transaction logs record store activity so owners can review purchases, sales, or changes made through a shop.
Shop owners can review transaction logs to track activity connected to their player-run stores.
Shop vaults separate store proceeds or operational funds from ordinary player inventory and storage.
Shop Chests include vault storage for proceeds, keeping earnings distinct from a shop's physical stock.
A server-provided resource pack changes Minecraft’s visual or audio presentation with custom assets tailored to the server experience.
BareBonesMP provides a server resource pack containing additional content and custom animations for its survival experience.
