About SmashMC
SmashMC is a Java Pixelmon network built around catching, training, trading, and battling Pokémon in a large Minecraft world. Start with a shiny starter, build a team, explore for new encounters, and work through gyms, the Battle Tower, the Elite Four, and Pokédex rewards. GTS and PixelAuction give collecting a player-driven market.
What Makes It Different
SmashMC connects relaxed Pokémon collecting with real player danger. Build a team in the survival world, then risk it in Warzone battles. Fusion Pokémon and custom textures make the collection feel less standard than ordinary Pixelmon.
Pixelmon brings Pokémon into Minecraft, letting players find, catch, train, evolve, and battle them across a block-based world.
Pixelmon is the server's central gameplay system and identity.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Warzone, tournaments, Ultimate Teams, gyms, and competitive battles are major activities.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Players explore and build in a persistent survival-style Pokémon world.
Use the matching Java Pixelmon client files or resource pack before joining. Choose a starter, explore the overworld, catch Pokémon, train your team, and take on gyms and other challenges. Helpful activities include EV training, PokéHunts, breeding, riding, flying, and Pokémon trading.
Progress comes from raising stronger Pokémon and completing server goals. Gyms award badges, while the Battle Tower, Elite Four, Pokédex rewards, daily rewards, playtime rewards, and seasonal Battle Pass add more milestones.
SmashMC adds shiny starters, custom Pokémon textures, fusion Pokémon, Lucky Blocks, special battle content, custom rewards, and themed collection challenges on top of Pixelmon.
The network uses a large survival-style Pokémon world with overworld exploration, wild encounters, gyms, training areas, and special activity zones. Legendary Pokémon can appear in both the overworld and Warzone.
Warzone is SmashMC's main high-risk PvP area. Trainers can battle other players, compete for rewards, and put valuable Pokémon at risk. Outside Warzone, tournaments, Ultimate Teams, gyms, and player-run competitive roles provide more structured battles.
Players trade Pokémon and items through GTS and PixelAuction. The network also has an in-game economy, vote rewards, daily rewards, and playtime rewards that support regular trading and progression.
Recurring tournaments, staff-run events, drop parties, PokéHunts, Bingo, and seasonal Battle Pass content give players reasons to return after finishing the main gym path.
The community is centered around an official Discord and an English-speaking Pixelmon player base. Players can join public events, trade Pokémon, compete in tournaments, and take part in player-run gyms and Elite Four roles.
The official store sells ranks, perks, Smash Coins, gift cards, and other digital items. Purchases are handled through PayPal and are non-refundable; chargebacks or payment disputes can result in a permanent network ban.

History of SmashMC
SmashMC began as PokeSmash, a Pixelmon server operating by July 2016. From the start, it combined Pixelmon gameplay with custom content and protections against griefing. Free ranks, a player-driven market, and player-run gyms gave the server a community-focused identity beyond standard survival progression.
As the server developed, its gameplay expanded around structured competition and collection. Gyms and badges formed a progression path, while the Battle Tower offered another challenge for players building and testing their teams. A player-run Elite Four added a further layer of community competition.
The network also introduced recurring activities designed to support different play styles. PokéHunts, Bingo, Dex Rewards, daily rewards, and playtime rewards complemented the main Pixelmon experience. These systems gave players regular goals between battles, exploration, and collection.
Custom content remained part of the server’s identity. SmashMC featured custom Pokémon textures and fusion Pokémon, extending the familiar Pixelmon roster with content associated specifically with the network. Its progression systems likewise continued to connect collection, competition, and participation.
By December 2018, the server was established under the SmashMC name. The renamed network continued to promote tournaments, staff-run events, drop parties, and other recurring activities, giving its community a calendar of competitive and social events.
In its later development, SmashMC added a seasonal Battle Pass to its existing rewards and progression systems. Alongside its in-game activities, the network offered paid perks and digital items through its official store, forming another part of its ongoing server operation.
Today, SmashMC carries forward the identity first formed as PokeSmash: a Pixelmon network built around custom content, structured progression, player competition, and recurring community events. Its gyms, badges, Elite Four, collection challenges, fusion Pokémon, and seasonal systems combine to make the server more than a single Pixelmon mode.
