About Complex Gaming
Complex Gaming is a large Minecraft network with separate Vanilla, Pixelmon, and Cobblemon branches. Players can build a protected base, trade items, join clans, fight through Factions, climb Prison ranks, or start a Pokémon adventure with a custom modpack.
The Pokémon branches add Pokédex goals, gyms, player trading, contracts, hunts, custom gear, and dungeon runs. The Vanilla branch focuses on Survival, Factions, Prison, Creative, Skyblock, and Lifesteal. That wide choice is the main appeal, but the experience is much more feature-heavy than plain Minecraft.
What Makes It Different
Complex Gaming puts Pokémon collecting beside familiar Minecraft modes in one network. You can move from building and trading to gyms, clans, dungeons, or Factions without changing communities.
Pixelmon brings Pokémon into Minecraft, letting players find, catch, train, evolve, and battle them across a block-based world.
Pixelmon is one of the network's central branches and a defining part of its identity.
Cobblemon is a modded Minecraft experience where players find, catch, train, and battle Pokémon-like creatures while exploring the world.
Cobblemon is a current first-party branch with its own modpack and Pokémon progression.
Factions is a Minecraft multiplayer mode where players join organized groups, build shared bases, and compete with rival groups for territory, resources, and strategic advantage.
Factions remains a major competitive mode built around bases, raids, PvP, spawners, and seasonal maps.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Survival is a major Vanilla branch with building, claims, custom biomes, economy, and long-term progression.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
Custom gear, runes, backpacks, weapons, crates, infusions, and special rewards distinguish the network.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Player markets, server shops, currencies, chest shops, auctions, and Pokémon trading are major systems.
Choose a branch from the hub, then follow its own path. Vanilla players can build, mine, farm, trade, join Factions, or climb Prison ranks. Pixelmon and Cobblemon players choose a starter, explore with /rtp, catch Pokémon, build a base, and join a clan.
Teleport commands, homes, claims, player warps, chest shops, and server menus make travel and daily tasks quicker. The network is built around long-term progression rather than a single short minigame session.
Pixelmon progression includes Pokédex completion, Gym badges, the Elite Four, contracts, hunts, Bingo cards, Battle Tower rewards, and Dex Ranks. Pixelmon Dex Ranks run from Trainer through PokeMaster and unlock kits, money, ranch slots, commands, and other rewards.
Vanilla progression varies by mode. Prison uses mining, money, voting, and rank advancement. Factions uses mob tiers, spawners, FTOP competition, and base building. Survival progression centers on building, claims, custom biomes, jobs, trading, and network-wide custom systems.
Pixelmon includes more than the base mod alone: custom Pokémon textures, seasonal gear, Gear infusions, custom ranks, contracts, hunts, Bingo, Battle Tower systems, player gyms, custom rewards, and Reset Vault storage.
Vanilla branches use a large rune system with mode-specific effects, custom gear sets, backpacks, special weapons, crates, and dungeon content. The newer Dungeons add random rooms, handicaps, difficulty charms, reward tiers, scoring, and leaderboards.
Pixelmon and Cobblemon use a main Overworld for homes, claims, and player builds. The main world does not reset unless the server performs a full wipe. A separate Resource World refreshes on the first day of each month and cannot be claimed or used for permanent homes.
The modded worlds also include the Nether, Ultra Space, generated structures, biome warps, Battle Towers, gyms, dungeons, and protected administrative areas. Complex Survival adds custom-generated biomes and random teleport destinations.
Factions is the main high-risk PvP branch. Players defend bases with walls, cannons, farms, spawners, and faction regions while raiders use fly machines and custom creeper eggs. Maps run on competitive seasonal cycles.
Pixelmon also has NPC Gyms, Player Gyms, public battle arenas, Battle Tower formats, and team validation rules. Survival claims protect land, but unclaimed areas and competitive modes remain riskier.
The economy mixes fixed server shops with player trading. Pixelmon uses Coins, Gems, Battle Points, and Omega+ Credits, while its main markets include /shop, /ah, /gts, chest shops, player warps, and direct trades.
Coins come from activities such as Hunts, Contracts, Bingo, Gyms, and Dungeons. Gems function as a premium currency and can also be traded through the server's safe-trade system. Vanilla branches use shops, chest shops, voting rewards, tokens, and mode-specific currencies.
Activities include seasonal crate releases, present hunts, races, Bingo challenges, tournaments, Gym battles, clan competitions, dungeon leaderboards, and limited-time reward events. Seasonal content changes the available gear, keys, rewards, and challenges.
Complex Gaming has separate communities for Vanilla and Pixelmon/Cobblemon, with Discord support, forums, clan chat, player shops, player warps, Player Gyms, and staff applications. Clans begin with limited membership and can grow through upgrades while competing for leaderboard rewards.
Players must follow gameplay, conduct, and chat rules. Claims protect land from building, breaking, looting, and other griefing, while resource, seasonal, and administrative worlds are not permanent protected areas. SafeTrade is available for exchanging Pokémon, items, Coins, and Gems.
The official store sells ranks, crate keys, bundles, gift cards, Gems, and other digital items. Pixelmon donor ranks include commands, kits, convenience features, cosmetics, and some gameplay advantages. The store also offers subscription upgrades such as Omega+.
Players who want a strictly no-purchase competitive environment should consider the effect of paid ranks, keys, and premium currency before joining.

History of Complex Gaming
Complex Gaming was running by February 27, 2016, when it presented itself as a new 1.8 server built around Factions and OPPrison. KitPvP and Skyblock were planned as early additions, showing that the network was designed around several connected modes from the beginning.
By November 2, 2017, FrankCG was associated with the server, which had moved into the mc-complex.com domain family. Its identity had expanded beyond the original Factions and Prison focus into a broader multi-mode network.
Over the following years, Complex Gaming grew into both vanilla-style and modded branches. Pixelmon became one of its defining identities, while the network continued to maintain Survival, Factions, Skyblock, Prison, Creative, and other progression-based modes.
In December 2024, the Pixelmon branch gained an official CurseForge modpack partnership. The pack bundled the client setup with server-specific textures and connection help, making the modded experience easier to install for new players.
The network entered a new expansion phase in 2026. Complex added a separate Cobblemon branch, refreshed its Vanilla web presence, and continued building branch-specific guides for claims, economies, clans, trading, ranks, and custom gear.
In August 2026, Complex introduced new 1.21 Dungeons. These replaced the older dungeon style with replayable rooms, changing tasks, optional handicaps, group play, difficulty charms, score tiers, and leaderboards.
Today, Complex Gaming is a connected network rather than a single survival world. Its strongest identity comes from combining large-scale multiplayer activity with Pokémon progression, protected building, player markets, competitive factions, and frequent custom systems.
