About Kottcraft

Kottcraft is a Swedish survival server focused on one shared city world. Players join towns, buy or build on plots, trade with neighbors, and help shape districts that can remain part of the world for years.

Outside city protection, the world becomes a normal survival space with hunger, hostile mobs and environmental danger. Marked PvP arenas, boat races, elytra courses, parkour and seasonal builds add activities beyond city life.

What Makes It Different

Kottcraft uses its own Geocities system instead of a standard town plugin. Plots can be different sizes, stacked above one another, rented or sold, and controlled with detailed permissions. A player can belong to up to three cities.

The same world has been kept since 2011. A large build is meant to become part of a living settlement rather than disappear at the next seasonal reset.

Kottcraft Gameplay

The main activity is joining or building a city. City leaders claim 16×16 land chunks, divide them into plots, manage permissions and collect taxes. Residents can buy a plot, build a home, work with neighbors or help develop public districts.

Nature surrounds the cities and provides the normal survival side of the server. Public teleport points, state facilities, player shops and community builds make it easy to travel between projects.

History of Kottcraft

Kottcraft began in September 2011 as a Swedish Minecraft server built around a long-term shared world. Instead of treating each map as disposable, the server grew around towns, personal plots and player-made communities that could keep developing over time.

The major early turning point came on November 23, 2015, when the familiar Towny system was replaced by Kottcraft's own Geocities plugin. This changed city management from a standard town plugin into a deeper system with flexible plot sizes, layered plots, detailed permissions, city logs and support for membership in several cities at once.

The late-2015 period also expanded the server's activity beyond ordinary building. Seasonal areas, competitions, a Christmas calendar and timed courses gave players reasons to visit public builds and compete for leaderboard places.

By January 2022, Kottcraft had brought Minecraft 1.18 into the server's ongoing version history. Client support continued to be maintained through later releases, with experimental support for newer versions added before the server itself moved forward.

The server also continued improving its technical foundation. During 2024, parts of the world, including the Nether and End, were moved to faster storage while the waiting area and event infrastructure were restored after maintenance work.

In 2026, Kottcraft upgraded to Minecraft 1.21.11 and continued supporting newer clients during the transition. Seasonal projects remained part of the calendar, including Sommarstaden, which opened in June 2026.

Today, Kottcraft remains a persistent city-building survival server where Geocities, player economies, protected settlements and long-lived construction matter more than rapid resets or a large collection of unrelated minigames.
