FinnishAbout Valkia
Valkia is a Finnish-language roleplay server for Java Edition. You play as a character living in Liekkiönmaa, a land rebuilding after a war, with two towns: the capital Liesmäki and the countryside of Kurjensuu. No mods are needed, but many normal mechanics are changed or harder, and there is rune magic taught by the church.
You start with one character and unlock a second after 10 hours of roleplay. Characters take real jobs like baking, smithing or tar burning, get paid in lyyra, and follow laws made and judged by players. All chat in roleplay is in Finnish.
What Makes It Different
Players run the whole society themselves, with laws, courts, taxes and a central bank, all played in Finnish.
Everything is played in character, with lore, laws and a story team.
Wages, taxes, chest shops and a central bank all use the lyyra.
You play as a character, not as yourself, and stay in role unless you use an out-of-character channel. New characters arrive to help rebuild the land, and you can write a backstory on the forums. Fights must start from a real story reason and a clear warning.
The story is set in the year 973 after the Great Division. A sorcerer once conquered four lands, and the church is now bringing in new people to rebuild Liesmäki and Kurjensuu.
The money is called lyyra. A central bank offers storage vaults and payment transfers for wages and rent, and players trade through chest shops and buy-and-sell boards.
The forums hold the lore, the laws, court cases, job listings and town boards, so a lot of the story happens there as well as in game.
The server is recommended for ages 16 and up. Only approved mods are allowed, gameplay-changing clients are banned, and you may not change other players' builds. Theft is allowed only in roleplay, with strict limits.
Players open their own businesses, like a bakery in Liesmäki, and hire workers through a job board.
The central bank rents out storage vaults and handles transfers for wages and rent in lyyra.
Minor characters die for good after three deaths, and you can ask the story team to end a character's life.
You may not change or build near other players' builds without permission, and messy builds are removed.
Players sell goods from chest shops, which carry a large share of trade in the land.
Characters work as bakers, smiths, farmers, tar burners or office workers, and two of your characters cannot share a job.
Valkia uses its own resource pack, and you may add shaders or packs that give no unfair advantage.

The church teaches rune magic, and rune tools follow the same building rules as normal tools.
