About TriverseMC PikaNova
TriverseMC PikaNova is a Java modded Pixelmon server built around catching, training, breeding, trading, and battling Pokémon in a custom RPG world. Its main progression runs through NPC trainers, eight Gyms, arena challenges, research tasks, raids, and rare overworld encounters.
The server also has a timed Safari Reserve. Each visit puts you in a protected 4,000 × 4,000 map with regional spawn pools, missions, Ranger ranks, rotating events, and occasional boss rifts. PikaNova requires its NeoForge 1.21.1 modpack, which includes the needed mods and custom resource pack.
What Makes It Different
PikaNova turns Pixelmon into a full server RPG instead of stopping at catching Pokémon. Gyms, research, raids, custom forms, and rare spawn conditions give collectors and battlers long-term goals.
Its Safari Reserve is especially different. You pay for a timed expedition, choose a bonus plan, keep a catch chain alive, and react to events before a boss rift can end the run.
Pixelmon brings Pokémon into Minecraft, letting players find, catch, train, evolve, and battle them across a block-based world.
The server is built around Pixelmon collection, training, breeding, battles, gyms, and raids.
Modded Minecraft servers use game mods to add or change mechanics, content, or progression beyond the unmodified game.
Joining requires NeoForge and a dedicated modpack.
An RPG server makes Minecraft revolve around developing a character through adventures, combat, and other challenges.
Gyms, badges, NPCs, research, unlocks, custom encounters, and layered progression create a strong RPG structure.
PvE is Minecraft gameplay centered on surviving and overcoming enemies and hazards controlled by the game rather than by other players.
NPC battles, Gyms, raids, research, wild encounters, and Safari boss fights are major activities.
Catch Pokémon in the overworld, train them through NPC battles, breed stronger teams, and trade with other players. Poké Marts, move tutors, TM vendors, Pokémon Centers, and research NPCs support the daily loop.
Gyms use themed trainer teams and badge battles. Arena circuits offer repeatable practice fights, while raid dens create tougher group encounters with special loot.
Pokémon levels are only one part of progression. Eight Gyms provide badges, money, and technical rewards, while research lines can unlock systems such as Mega Evolution or Dynamax-related access.
Safari has its own Ranger XP track. Higher Ranger ranks improve Safari Ball strength, and missions, chains, region discoveries, events, and boss rifts all feed into that separate progression.
The server includes a bundled custom resource pack with exclusive visuals, custom Pokémon forms, server items, and interface changes. Nova also has Evil Pokémon, mask-related legendary encounters, paradox hunts, custom spawn announcements, rare overworld targets, raid rewards, and specialized relic items.
Nova uses a custom Pixelmon world with expanded biome generation and regional encounter rules. Time, weather, moon phases, biome groups, and special dimensions can affect which Pokémon appear.
The Safari Reserve is a separate 4,000 × 4,000 protected map with 13 regions, its own spawn pools, seasonal additions, and a central hub.
Competitive play includes a Warzone, tournaments, Championships, and Pokémon battles built around team preparation. The server also supports player-run Gym activity, giving trainers reasons to build teams beyond ordinary wild encounters.
Pokédollars pay for Poké Balls, medicine, TMs, services, and other supplies. Money comes from NPC battles, Gym and arena challenges, research tasks, raids, and Safari activities.
Routine trainer payouts are deliberately small, so Gym rewards, research milestones, seasonal objectives, and efficient Safari runs matter more than repeatedly farming weak trainers.
Regular competitive events include tournaments and Championship-style battles. Nova's Safari Reserve adds Stampedes, Shiny Surges, Meteor Showers, Alpha Outbreaks, Mass Outbreaks, Double XP periods, weather events, Golden Hour bonuses, Trainer Ambushes, Wandering Merchants, and Boss Rifts.
The TriverseMC Discord provides help with installing the modpack and joining the server. Players can trade Pokémon, cooperate on raids, take part in player-run Gyms, and share progress through the wider network community.
Base protection is part of the network's survival setup. The Safari Reserve is more tightly controlled: PvP is disabled, blocks cannot be broken or placed, flying and elytra are disabled, and teleport, healing, and PC commands are blocked during expeditions.

History of TriverseMC PikaNova
TriverseMC was first presented as a Pixelmon network with separate Core and Dex realms running on the older Forge 1.12.2 and Pixelmon 8.4.3 setup. Core focused on a classic survival-style Pixelmon experience, while Dex was aimed at completing the Pokédex.
PikaDex was present on the network by March 31, 2026. PikaNova followed as a newer branch built around Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge, and a dedicated modpack. That change brought the network onto a newer Pixelmon generation while keeping its shared focus on collection, battles, gyms, and server-run activities.
The Nova branch developed beyond basic Pixelmon survival. Its world added eight major Gyms, themed arena circuits, NPC trainers, Pokéstop research, raid dens, specialized shops, breeding support, and a large collection of rare encounters.
Nova also introduced server-specific Pokémon content. Evil forms, mask-based legendary encounters, paradox hunts, unusual spawn conditions, and custom visual assets give the world targets that are not part of a standard Pixelmon installation.
The Safari Reserve became another major part of the Nova experience. It uses a separate protected map divided into 13 regions, with timed expeditions, Ranger XP, missions, chain bonuses, seasonal spawns, world events, and a boss-rift system.
Today, PikaNova combines the long-term collection grind of Pixelmon with structured RPG progression, competitive Pokémon battles, custom encounters, raids, and short timed Safari runs. The older Core and Dex addresses remain part of the wider TriverseMC network, while Nova is the newer 1.21.1 experience.
