About TotalFreedom
Most servers make you earn commands. TotalFreedom hands them out the moment you join. Flip between creative and survival, reshape the land with WorldEdit, or type /flatlands to jump to a flat world made for building. Small extras like /nicknyan turn your name into a rainbow.
The main world is often reset to a saved map, so save anything you care about as a WorldEdit schematic. Freedom has limits: griefing or bothering other players can get you banned, and giant WorldEdit edits that lag the server are not allowed. You join with Java Edition, and chat is in English.
What Makes It Different
It calls itself the original all-op server, running since around 2010 on its own plugin, TotalFreedomMod, which keeps everyone's op powers in check.
Build freely in the main world or the Flatlands world, with no plots to buy.
Every player gets creative mode and building tools as soon as they join.
Everyone gets op-style powers, creative tools and WorldEdit from the first minute. Use /creative or /survival to switch modes and /flatlands to move between the main world and the flat building world.
The main world is reset to a saved default map often. The Flatlands world is flat ground for building, the Nether is reachable through normal portals, and The End is closed for now.
Admins keep order with powers like mute, freeze and ban, and players can report rule breakers to an online admin.
Total freedom is not total anarchy. Griefing or disrupting others can lead to temporary bans, and you should test unfamiliar WorldEdit commands far from spawn and use //undo right away if something breaks.
The /nicknyan command gives your nickname a rainbow of colors that other players see in chat.
Anyone can use WorldEdit to copy, paste and reshape big areas, and save builds as schematics before the main world resets.
Even with op powers, griefing spawn or other players' builds and disrupting others can get you banned.
Every player gets op-style commands on joining, while the TotalFreedomMod plugin holds back the commands that could break the server.
Everyone builds in the same main world, which is often reset to a saved default map so it stays fresh.
Commands like /flatlands to switch worlds and /radar to see who is nearby are open to everyone.

History of TotalFreedom
2010 to 2013: TotalFreedom opened around late 2010 as an all-op server, where every player gets op. In March 2013 its own plugin, TotalFreedomMod, went up on GitHub, open for other servers to adapt.
2020 to 2021: The server rules were last refreshed in August 2020. In December 2021 staff posted about the future of the old forum, which is now read-only and points players to a forum on the TotalFreedom website.
2026: The original plugin repository got new updates in July 2026, and the server now runs from a new site that brings back the look of its 2012 info page.
