On Skogliv you claim a piece of land, build your home and help shape a world that has never been reset since the server opened in 2018. Join a town, take a job to earn money, and set up a chest shop to sell what you farm and mine. Griefing is banned inside and outside claims, so builds stay standing.
Survival and Creative run as separate worlds from one hub, and both have web maps where you can see what everyone has built. Norwegian is the main language, with Swedish, Danish and English also welcome. Java and Bedrock players can join.
What Makes It Different
The survival world has run on the same map since 2018, and the server has hosted national Minecraft events with Norwegian broadcasters.

You start in Survival, claim land and build. Towns, jobs and chest shops give you ways to work with others and earn money. Creative is a separate world for big builds, with WorldEdit guides.
Money comes from jobs and from selling to other players through chest shops and the auction house. Market manipulation and scams are against the rules.
Three people in their twenties run Skogliv as a hobby. It has worked with NRK Super, Mental Helse and Riksteatret on events inside the game, and a help chat from Mental Helse runs on the server.
Griefing is banned everywhere, including outside claims. Alt accounts, hacked clients, AFK machines and lag builds are not allowed, and games of chance are banned.
An auction house lets players list items for others to buy.

You claim land to protect your builds and choose who else can build there.
Players found or join towns to build and live together.
Creative has WorldEdit with its own guide for building big projects fast.

History of Skogliv
Skogliv opened on 31 July 2018 as Norway's first pure 1.13 survival server. Updates came fast: player shops in August 2018, a new claim system in December, and an auction house and trading in January 2019.
In May 2021 about 37,000 people joined its Constitution Day celebration, and the Crown Prince's family took part in the parade in Minecraft. A 2023 election broadcast made with NRK Super was nominated for a Gullruten award, and the stage show Det mørke fortet, built with Riksteatret, won a Hedda prize in June 2024.
In July 2026 Skogliv turned eight, still on the same map, and Survival moved to Minecraft 1.21.11.
