About Moss & Moon
Moss & Moon is a mostly vanilla SMP for adults, with an 18+ entry bar and a trust-based style. The world keeps the familiar Minecraft feel, then adds small quality-of-life touches such as proximity chat, GSit, faster leaf decay, no crop trampling, and no mob griefing.
Players trade diamonds in a HermitCraft-style shopping district, while a separate resource world refreshes about monthly. The Games District gives members room to build minigames and casinos, and scheduled activities include Survival Games, Spleef, and King of the Hill.
What Makes It Different
Moss & Moon combines the relaxed feel of a private vanilla SMP with the structure of a long-running HermitCraft-style community. Players can trade, build public projects, make their own games, and use voice chat without turning the server into a heavy plugin network.
Vanilla servers use Minecraft’s original blocks, items, rules, and progression without custom gameplay systems that redefine how players play.
Gameplay is mostly vanilla with a small set of quality-of-life additions.
Player Shops are player-run places or interfaces where players sell items to other players for currency or agreed trade goods.
Players operate shops in a dedicated HermitCraft-style shopping district.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The current main season is intended to continue without a planned reset.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server is fundamentally a shared survival experience.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Its main format is a community survival multiplayer server.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Diamonds and player commerce are central to the shared shopping district.
The main world is built around shared survival, player projects, and a trust-based community. Proximity chat makes nearby conversations part of everyday play, while GSit and faster leaf decay smooth out small annoyances. No crop trampling and no mob griefing protect the feel of long-term builds without adding a large custom system.
Progression comes from building useful farms, gathering materials, and taking part in the diamond economy. The shopping district gives players a reason to specialize, sell goods, and return to the shared hub instead of keeping every resource for themselves.
Custom content is kept light. The server adds quality-of-life features such as proximity voice chat, GSit, rapid leaf decay, no crop trampling, and no mob griefing while leaving most of Minecraft's normal systems intact.
The third season's main world is intended to remain in place without a planned reset. Separate resource worlds reset about once a month so players can gather materials without exhausting the shared survival world.
PvP is part of organized activities such as Survival Games and King of the Hill. Moss & Moon is not built around constant competitive combat; its regular survival play focuses more on building, trading, and community projects.
Diamonds are the main trading currency. The shopping district follows a HermitCraft-style model, with players creating shops and setting prices for other members. The Games District also supports player-made casinos and other game builds.
Events run about every two weeks and include Survival Games, Spleef, King of the Hill, build-focused activities, and other community games. Players can also create their own minigames in the Games District.
Moss & Moon is an 18+ community with an LGBTQ+-friendly atmosphere. New players apply through Discord, and the server is aimed at mature, respectful players who enjoy building relationships as well as builds.
Players must be 18 or older and are expected to be mature and respectful. The server uses a trust-based style and aims to keep the community welcoming, safe, and non-toxic.
The server accepts donations for upkeep. Store support is not presented as pay-to-win, and the community has emphasized transparency around how funds are used.

History of Moss & Moon
Moss & Moon was already an established adult SMP before spring 2026, with a community that had completed two full seasons. Its early development followed a seasonal format, giving the server room to start fresh while keeping its community together.
Those earlier seasons included world resets. The reset cycle helped create new beginnings, but it also separated the server's history into distinct chapters rather than one continuous world.
By May 25, 2026, the first two seasons were complete and the community was preparing for another opening. The server had settled into a mostly vanilla style with a few carefully chosen quality-of-life additions.
The third season began on June 1, 2026, with a new world and a long-term plan. This was presented as the server's forever season, with no planned reset for the main world.
The new season brought together the systems that now shape the server: a diamond-based shopping district, monthly resource worlds, player-run games, and recurring community events. A Community Projects Club also gave players a way to work on shared builds and activities beyond their own bases.
Today, Moss & Moon remains a small-scale, adult-focused survival community built around shared projects, player shops, proximity chat, and a persistent world. Its history is less about adding large networks of modes and more about refining one social SMP through successive seasons.
