About StateCraft
StateCraft turns Minecraft survival into life inside Alexandria, a player-built kingdom with businesses, jobs, property, markets, elections, and government offices. You can work your way into city life, open a company, buy and sell property, or take part in the politics that shape the community.
The server also adds vehicles, including cars, bikes, helicopters, and jets. Java and Bedrock players can join the same world without installing a custom modpack. Beyond Alexandria, wilderness areas give the network room for exploration and more open-ended conflict.
What Makes It Different
Most city servers stop at building streets and shops. StateCraft connects those builds to elections, laws, government jobs, businesses, and a player-run economy, so the city changes through what residents decide to do.
CityBuild is a Minecraft building mode where players develop homes, businesses, and public spaces into connected urban districts.
Building and expanding Alexandria is a major part of play.
Geopolitical servers organize Minecraft play around player-run states that claim territory, manage borders, and compete or cooperate for influence.
Elections, political parties, laws, government offices, and parliamentary decisions shape the world.
Roleplay is Minecraft gameplay where players act as characters in a shared fictional world and make choices from those characters’ perspectives.
Player-led civic life, government, businesses, laws, and careers are the server's defining experience.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Jobs, businesses, markets, real estate, shops, and a stock market drive progression.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Players share a persistent multiplayer world and build the city together.
Start by learning Alexandria's layout, finding work, and meeting the people who run its businesses and institutions. Tour Guides can help new players get oriented. From there, you can build property, join a company, operate a shop, work in government, or take part in public life.
Progress comes through jobs, trade, businesses, property, and civic roles rather than a simple combat level path. Players can earn money through work and commerce, then use it in the market, real estate, stock market, vehicles, and other parts of city life.
The server adds drivable vehicles and roleplay-focused systems for jobs, businesses, government, property, and markets. Basic play does not require a custom client modpack.
Alexandria is the main urban setting and the home of the Kingdom of Alexandria. The network also includes the Wild, Everwild, Outback, Nether, and End, giving players both structured city space and open wilderness.
Combat is secondary to politics and city roleplay. Property outside the city and in the Wilderness, End, and Nether follows looser protection rules, while targeted killing, harassment, flooding, and lava casting are prohibited.
StateCraft uses a player-driven economy with jobs, businesses, chest shops, markets, real estate, and a stock market. Government positions and commercial activity give players several ways to earn and spend in-game money.
Player-led elections, parliamentary votes, bills, constitutional proposals, court matters, business openings, and government activity provide recurring events tied to the life of Alexandria.
The community is organized around the city, its government, businesses, political groups, and public institutions. Forums and Discord support the wider roleplay, while in-game Tour Guides help newcomers understand how Alexandria works.
Players must use English across network platforms and follow strict anti-harassment and anti-discrimination rules. Griefing another player's property is prohibited except in the Wilderness, End, and Nether. Redstone clocks are banned, farms must remain manual or semi-automatic, excessive entities are restricted, and only approved client modifications are allowed. Players may use only one Minecraft account across the network.
StateCraft has an official web store for contributions and purchases. Businesses and player entities cannot transact in real-world currency, so in-game commerce remains based on the server economy.

History of StateCraft
StateCraft was running by April 12, 2025, when it became part of the Minecraft Cities Network. Its central setting developed around Alexandria, a player-built kingdom where construction, commerce, and public life all connect.
The server's early focus was city roleplay rather than a collection of disconnected minigames. Jobs, businesses, property, markets, and player government gave players reasons to build districts and participate in the city's growth.
By late 2025, Alexandria had formal government spaces for a Prime Minister and Cabinet, along with state reports and executive documents. Political offices became part of the regular rhythm of the server instead of being background decoration.
During 2026, the political side continued to expand through parliamentary bills, election-law changes, constitutional proposals, and player-run business activity. Laws and public decisions became another way for players to change how the city worked.
The wider setting also grew beyond the main city. The network's wilderness areas include the Wild, Everwild, Outback, Nether, and End, creating a clear contrast between organized civic life and less controlled frontier spaces.
Today, StateCraft is a Java-and-Bedrock roleplay SMP built around Alexandria's economy and government. Players can still approach it as builders, workers, entrepreneurs, politicians, or ordinary residents, with each path affecting the shared city.
