About Civ+

Civ+ is a survival server about building a nation, not just a base. Players form countries, claim territory, trade, publish news, negotiate, or go to war. Most local rules come from the players living inside those nations.

Its custom systems change how survival works. Citadel makes blocks and chests much harder to break, Sanctuaries stop placement grief, and JukeAlert exposes activity around protected areas. Vorpal can imprison a killed player in the End, while meteors create public fights over the fuel needed to keep that weapon working. XP, enchanting, brewing, cooking, and shops all use custom systems instead of vanilla routines.

What Makes It Different

Civ+ lets players build governments and enforce many of their own laws through gameplay. The strangest example is Vorpal: a weapon can trap a defeated player in the End until the prison is broken or the weapon loses its charge.

Civ+ Gameplay

Start by joining or creating a nation, then help it secure land, produce resources, and build influence. Players can publish news, negotiate with neighboring nations, run markets, or turn political arguments into open conflict.

Survival has more depth than vanilla. Treasure hunting replaces normal experience gathering, custom crafting supports advanced items, and protected areas require planning rather than a simple claim command.

History of Civ+

Civ+ began as a development project in 2019 and was active by 2020. Its early goal was a long-running political sandbox where players could create rules and enforce them with in-game tools instead of relying on constant staff control.

The first major design took ordinary survival mechanics and tied them to territory and conflict. Citadel reinforced blocks, JukeAlert watched for intruders, Sanctuary protected land from placement grief, and Vorpal gave players a way to imprison enemies after a kill.

In July 2024, Civ+ moved out of beta into a live public phase. The launch-era design placed weekly meteors at the center of the server's public conflicts. Their locations were announced in advance, bringing nations together to fight over a resource that could refuel Vorpal weapons.

The ruleset then expanded beyond territory and combat. Treasure hunting became the path to experience and enchanting, while TopShelf added custom drinks, Skillet added skill-based cooking, and ItemsExchange let players operate chest-based markets.

The political side grew around a hand-painted 8,000-by-8,000 world. Players could form nations, publish announcements with /news, map their claims, negotiate alliances, or turn border disputes into wars. The result was a server where geography and politics mattered as much as equipment.

By 2026, Civ+ runs Java Edition 26.2 and continues to update its custom systems. It now combines a persistent nation-building world with player-run economies, specialized PvP, public meteor events, and a deliberately narrow set of admin-enforced rules.
