About Matcha SMP
Matcha SMP brings the Matcha Flavoured datapack's altered survival feel into a simple multiplayer server. Players join with a normal Java client, without installing a separate datapack or resource pack. The server keeps the focus on survival instead of turning into a large minigame network.
The world is built for community play, with opt-in PvP, chest protection, anti-grief tools, rollback support, events, giveaways, and voice chat. Quality-of-life changes such as tree-felling, faster minecarts and happy ghasts, custom easter eggs, and a costly recall potion give the server its own flavor.
What Makes It Different
The server lets players use Matcha Flavoured's custom survival balance without installing the datapack. Its other signature touches are practical rather than flashy: protected chests, a recall potion, faster transport, and PvP that players turn on by agreement.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.
It keeps a survival foundation while adding Matcha Flavoured changes and quality-of-life systems.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The server is designed around shared multiplayer survival.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server is fundamentally a survival SMP.
The main mode is shared survival with Matcha Flavoured balance changes and multiplayer fixes. Tree-felling and faster transport reduce some of the slower parts of a normal survival session. Chest protection and rollback tools help players keep long-term builds and supplies safe.
Progression follows Matcha Flavoured's changed survival balance instead of a network-wide rank ladder. The recall potion gives established players a useful way to return to their beds, but its high cost keeps it from being a free escape button.
Matcha SMP includes Matcha Flavoured balance changes, multiplayer compatibility fixes, custom easter egg items, a recall potion, faster minecarts, faster happy ghasts, tree-felling, and other quality-of-life improvements. No separate client-side pack is required.
Players share a community survival world designed for building, exploration, and long-term projects. The server's protection tools are aimed at keeping personal storage and builds intact while the world grows.
PvP is opt-in. Players can arrange fights without making the whole world permanently hostile. Anti-grief systems and rollback support add another layer of protection around shared play.
Community events and giveaways are part of the server's social calendar.
The community is pride-friendly and connected through Discord and voice chat. The server is aimed at players who want a relaxed survival group rather than a huge public network.
Anti-grief systems, rollback support, chat automation, and chest claims protect the shared world. PvP is opt-in, so players are not expected to fight without agreement.
Purchases are cosmetic and intended to help support the server. Gameplay advantages and pay-to-win combat perks are not part of the server's stated monetization model.

History of Matcha SMP
Matcha SMP grew from the Matcha Flavoured datapack community. The goal was to make its changed survival mechanics work smoothly in multiplayer while keeping the server easy for new players to join.
The project was announced in August 2026 with a planned release date of August 22. Early development focused on performance, multiplayer compatibility, balance fixes, faster minecarts, and server-wide rollback protection.
It opened in late August as a plug-and-play Java SMP. Players could use the Matcha Flavoured changes without downloading the datapack themselves, which removed one of the biggest barriers to getting friends onto the same world.
After opening, the server expanded its quality-of-life setup with chest claims, tree-felling, custom easter egg items, a recall potion, and faster happy ghasts. Anti-grief protection and chat automation were also added to keep the shared world manageable.
The project also settled into a social format with opt-in PvP, community events, giveaways, Discord activity, and voice chat. Purchasable perks remain cosmetic rather than combat advantages.
Today, Matcha SMP is a focused Java survival community for players who want Matcha Flavoured mechanics, small custom additions, and a safer social world without client-side setup.
