About Hollow Cube
Hollow Cube is a Java server built around Map Maker rather than survival SMP gameplay. You can browse community-made builds and parkour courses, or open your own private worlds and design something for other players to try.
Finished maps can include checkpoints, timers, leaderboards, custom items, special movement rules, and map-specific settings. Builders get Terraform tools, multiple editable worlds, custom building blocks, and free Axiom support. It works well for both serious course creators and players who simply want a steady stream of short Minecraft challenges.
What Makes It Different
Hollow Cube turns Minecraft maps into playable, searchable content instead of leaving them as one-off downloads. A map can have its own rules, checkpoints, timers, ratings, and leaderboards.
The other big difference is the editor. Players get dedicated worlds, powerful Terraform tools, custom map items, and free Axiom support, so the server feels closer to a shared level-building platform than a normal creative plot server.
Parkour is a Minecraft movement challenge built around crossing obstacle courses with precise running, sprinting, jumping, and landing.
Parkour courses are one of the two main map types and use dedicated mechanics.
Adventure Maps are handcrafted Minecraft scenarios that guide players through a planned journey of exploration, puzzles, hazards, combat, and objectives.
Players browse and play published custom maps with puzzles, challenges, and themed builds.
Creative is a Minecraft building mode where players construct and test structures with unrestricted access to building materials instead of gathering them through survival play.
Building and editing personal map worlds are central to the server.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
Custom blocks and items power checkpoints, movement challenges, effects, and map gameplay.
Use the map browser to find builds, tutorials, parkour, droppers, gauntlets, speedruns, puzzles, and other player-made courses. Maps can be filtered with tags and ranked by quality.
Parkour courses may use timers, checkpoints, lives, special movement rules, and course leaderboards. Building maps focus more on showcasing a finished creation or teaching a building method.
There is no server-wide gear or rank grind. Your progress is tied to the maps you play and the worlds you create.
Played maps can save your progress so you can return later. Creators improve maps through testing, ratings, verification, publication, and higher quality levels ranging from Unrated through Good, Great, Excellent, Outstanding, and Masterpiece.
Terraform provides WorldEdit-style editing and extra building controls, including block-state debugging and convenient placement tools. Axiom is supported for advanced building.
Map authors can use custom blocks and items for checkpoints, status plates, item rewards, potion effects, Elytra sections, wind charges, ender pearls, timers, lives, and movement challenges.
Each creator gets dedicated worlds for building and can switch between multiple editable maps. Worlds can be kept private while they are being made, then shared with other players.
Map instances are separate from a normal survival overworld. The focus is on loading and playing individual creations, whether that means a showcase build, a puzzle room, or a full parkour course.
Hollow Cube ran its first official map competition in summer 2025. The event supported teams of up to five and rewarded original maps built around items such as Elytra, tridents, or blocks.
Entries were judged on gameplay, concept use, and presentation. Competition maps remained playable through the server's normal map system after the event.
Discord is the main social hub for support, suggestions, bug reports, update previews, and sharing creations. Players can invite friends into their building worlds and collaborate on maps.
Linking an in-game account with Discord unlocks extra features related to schematic and map uploads and downloads.
Hollow Cube prohibits cheats, unfair client modifications, macros, ping spoofing, exploit abuse, stat boosting, punishment evasion, harassment, discrimination, spam, inappropriate content, and unrelated advertising.
Maps can also be removed for cheated verification, stolen content, spam, discriminatory material, or explicit content. Doxing, DDoS threats, illegal content, and offensive names or skins are severe violations.
Cubits are the premium currency. They can sometimes be earned in-game or purchased from the store, then spent on cosmetics, extra map slots, and larger world sizes.
Hypercube is a recurring subscription that adds premium building features and perks such as extra map slots, bigger maps, a name badge, white chat, Discord benefits, extra emojis, and beta access. Cosmetics are sold separately from the Hypercube feature package.

History of Hollow Cube
Hollow Cube opened its Map Maker platform to the public in Early Access on June 21, 2024. From the beginning, the server focused on letting players create, publish, discover, and play Minecraft builds and parkour instead of running a traditional survival world.
The first version already included map ratings, searchable tags, map types, adjustable weather and time settings, dedicated creator worlds, custom building items, and Terraform tools. Parkour maps could use checkpoints and special rules, while building maps could be published as showcases or tutorials. Axiom support made large-scale editing possible without requiring a separate paid server feature.
On May 25, 2025, the Actions System gave map authors much finer control over checkpoints and status plates. Authors could add or remove potion effects, manage items and Elytra separately, change movement restrictions at specific points, use relative teleporting, and adjust timers or lives during a course.
The June 2025 anniversary marked a year of public Map Maker development. By then, the platform had gained a simpler map browser, block-placing parkour, attribute support, extra map settings, newer items such as wind charges, tridents, and Elytra, plus support across several modern Minecraft versions.
Hollow Cube held its first official map competition during the summer of 2025. Teams of up to five built original item-focused maps, with gameplay judged more heavily than presentation. The competition produced finalists including Subterranean, Molten Gauntlet, Train in the Clouds, and Kiokuya, with the results published on September 1, 2025.
The project remains an Early Access Java platform centered on creator-made maps, parkour, building tools, and community discovery. Public development continued through August 2026, while the server kept its focus on giving players more control over how Minecraft maps are built and played.
