About Queercraft
Queercraft combines a mostly-vanilla survival world with themed and open-ended creative worlds. Survival players mine, build, and make map art for sale in the multiplayer economy, while creative players work inside worlds with their own building themes and limits.
The Minecraft server is part of a wider LGBTQ+ community built around Discord, game nights, giveaways, and live radio. It is a good place to settle into long-term builds and meet people, without the heavy custom progression or rank ladder found on large network servers.
What Makes It Different
Queercraft is built around a queer-first community instead of a flashy game-mode gimmick. The Minecraft side stays close to vanilla, but the wider experience includes themed creative worlds, player-made art, Discord events, and live radio.
Creative is a Minecraft building mode where players construct and test structures with unrestricted access to building materials instead of gathering them through survival play.

The custom layer is deliberately light. A few plugins add extra convenience and gameplay features without turning the server into a modpack. Seasonal player heads, advent gifts, map-art tools, and themed creative worlds provide most of the extra personality.
Creative building takes place across themed worlds including Nova and Pluto. Nova's Downtown is a central 7-by-7 plot area where builds must use one plot and reach at least 75 blocks tall. Pluto is space-themed, and non-space builds must fit inside glass domes. Flags in Pluto must stay within 10 blocks of the world's edge.
Players can create map art and sell it in the multiplayer economy. The server also has separate market guidelines for player trading and sales.
Saturday radio shows bring together Minecraft players, Discord members, music requests, webcam and Zoom sessions, and in-game contests. The wider community also runs weekly game nights, giveaways, and seasonal build activities.
Queercraft is for LGBTQ+ players and allies. The community connects Minecraft with an active Discord, social gaming, music, and support-focused conversation. English is the main supported language.
The server does not require a whitelist or proof of identity before playing. It also avoids member ranks such as VIP or builder class. A Mod and Admin team keeps the community running smoothly, with separate build rules for themed creative worlds.
Donations and official merchandise support the wider nonprofit community. The Minecraft community does not use member ranks such as VIP or builder class.

History of Queercraft
Queercraft began in 2012, when Beau Herbert and a friend created a public Minecraft server for LGBTQ+ players to meet and play together. What was expected to last only a few months continued for years.
The Minecraft community grew around survival builds and creative projects. Its creative side developed into several themed and non-themed worlds, while the survival side stayed close to vanilla Minecraft with a small set of plugins.
Over time, Queercraft became more than a game server. Discord, community events, giveaways, and live music gave players ways to stay connected outside Minecraft. Volunteers helped new members get comfortable and kept the wider community running.
By 2022, Queercraft had passed its ten-year mark and had grown into a nonprofit support network and online sanctuary for LGBTQ+ people and allies. Beau Herbert remained active in the community and continued hosting long radio shows tied to Minecraft and Discord events.
Queercraft now keeps that older community-server feel while supporting both Java and Bedrock players. Its survival world, creative spaces, player-made map art, Discord community, and Saturday radio tradition remain the main threads connecting the server's long history to its present-day experience.
