About Ethereal Community SMP
Ethereal is a small-community survival server where players gather resources, build long-term bases, and share a world designed to keep growing rather than reset on a short cycle. Claim blocks protect builds and let players add trusted members, while the current map is intended to remain in place for many years.
Older survival maps are preserved through a separate museum server and downloadable archive, giving the server an unusual sense of continuity for players who enjoy exploring established builds as well as creating new ones.
What Makes It Different
Ethereal treats its world history as something worth keeping. The current long-term map launched in 2023 and is intended to last for many years, while earlier survival maps remain available through a museum server and downloadable archive.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The current map is intended to remain active for a decade or more, while earlier maps are preserved instead of routinely discarded.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.
The server retains ordinary Minecraft survival progression while adding a limited custom claim-protection system.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
Claim blocks protect builds and regions from griefing and raiding while allowing owners to manage trusted access.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server centers on gathering resources, exploring, improving equipment, building bases, and surviving in a shared world.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Players develop bases and projects together in a shared multiplayer survival world alongside an ongoing community.
Gameplay follows a relaxed survival loop of gathering resources, exploring, improving equipment, and building permanent bases alongside other players. The server’s claim system adds practical protection without replacing the ordinary survival progression.
Progress is open-ended rather than centered on a large minigame network or short seasonal ladder. Players improve their gear, expand their bases, protect more of their builds, and contribute to a world designed for long-term play.
Claim blocks provide the server’s main custom survival system. Players can choose free or paid claim sizes, protect regions from griefing and raiding, and add friends as members with access to the protected area.
The main survival world is a long-term map launched in 2023 and intended to remain active for a decade or more. Previous maps are preserved on the museum server and can also be downloaded, making the server’s older settlements and builds part of its ongoing world history.
PvP is not the server’s main focus. The rules prohibit joining to grief, raid, or troll, as well as mass griefing and mass raiding, so combat is kept within a community-first ruleset rather than treated as the central progression loop.
Paid claims use in-game MC$ for protection upkeep, while active players can maintain a free claim. The claim guide makes clear that claim payments use in-game currency rather than real money.
Ethereal is aimed at a smaller community where players and admins can know one another rather than at a high-volume network environment. Discord and in-game moderation support the social side of the server.
Players must avoid hacking, mass griefing, mass raiding, account sharing, command misuse, harassment, discrimination, toxicity, excessive spam, impersonation, ban evasion, unauthorized advertising, NSFW material, demeaning content, NFTs, and politics. Players are also expected to speak English so moderators can follow conversations.
Paid claims are maintained with in-game MC$, not real money. The network also maintains a separate official store for server-related purchases.
Archived maps are preserved past world versions that players can revisit after an active world or season has ended.
Earlier Ethereal survival maps are preserved through a separate museum server and downloadable archive, keeping previous settlements and builds accessible.
A Minecraft world is intended to remain active for many years instead of being routinely replaced by short seasonal resets.
The current map launched in 2023 and is planned to remain active for a decade or more rather than reset on a short cycle.
A protected land owner can grant selected players permission to access or build within a private claimed area.
Claim owners can add friends as members, allowing trusted players to access protected regions without opening them to everyone.
A land-claim system offers differently sized protection areas, with larger or additional tiers obtained through extra in-game resources.
Ethereal provides free or paid claim sizes, and paid protection uses in-game MC$ rather than real-money payment.
