Head to Gallifrey, walk down to the TARDIS Crafting Room and grow your own TARDIS from a seed. Then fly it. Doctor Who Minecraft, known to its players as DWO, is a fan-run server built around the show, with worlds for Gallifrey, London, Hedgewicks, Creative, Survival and Games.
Survival is calm and friendly: PvP is off, griefing is banned and players trade through chest shops for credits. The community is English-speaking and family-friendly, keeps chat spoiler-free and gathers every December for a Yule Ball. It runs on Java Edition.
What Makes It Different
Every player can build a working TARDIS with its own interior and fly it around the worlds, a perk that was opened to everyone for the server's tenth birthday in 2022.
Doctor Who roleplay is part of the server, with roleplay chat nicknames.
A Creative world for building anything from the show.
A Games world on Satellite 5, reached through the Games portal.
A no-PvP survival world with claims, chest shops and credits.
You hop between themed worlds through portals: build in Creative, settle in Survival, explore Gallifrey and London, or reach the minigames on Satellite 5 with /gamesworld.
Survival uses credits. Players run chest shops to buy and sell items with each other, and spawn sells no materials, so trading matters.
Christmas brings gift wrapping at the Trafalgar and Survival trees and the Yule Ball, where the community-voted DWO Minecraft Awards are given out. The server also holds Doctor Who themed games nights and watchalongs.
An English-speaking fan community that has played together since 2012, known for TARDIS builds, puzzles, pixel art and spoiler-free chat.
In Survival there is no griefing and no PvP, including creative ways to kill players. Chests with a sign are private. Players use /modreq to ask staff for help.
A live map on the website lets you look around and chat when you cannot get in game.
Each December the Yule Ball hosts the community-voted DWO Minecraft Awards.

History of Doctor Who Minecraft
DWO opened in February 2012 and was soon adding Doctor Who places of its own, with Frontios opening in September 2012 and a K-9 Maze that October. March 2014 brought Gallifrey and the Creative world.
The server turned five in February 2017, brought back its Yule Ball in December 2018 and opened to Bedrock players in June 2020. A fresh Survival world arrived that August.
For its tenth birthday in February 2022, TARDISes were opened to every player. Minecraft 1.21 came in September 2024, with TARDISes that can fly without landing, and the tenth annual Yule Ball followed that December.
