Blithe SMP puts the Hermitcraft-style social loop first: gather resources in a seasonal survival world, build alongside a whitelisted community, and turn the shopping district into a player-run economy. A separate Creative server gives players room to prototype builds and play community-made games, while small quality-of-life additions keep the world close to standard Minecraft.
What Makes It Different
Blithe keeps the friction that makes a shared survival world matter. There is no /sethome, /tpa, or land-claim system, so bases, roads, shops, and Nether routes connect through the world itself. Seasonal resets, a permanent Games District on Creative, and recurring community events give the server a recognizable rhythm beyond ordinary survival.
Proximity voice chat lets Minecraft players speak through audio that becomes quieter or inaudible as their in-game characters move apart.

Progress is mostly self-directed. Players develop a base, improve farms and gear, establish shops, collaborate on large builds, and prepare for seasonal events such as the End-opening dragon fight. Survival worlds reset with new seasons, while season downloads preserve finished builds.
The server keeps custom content light. Its optional Fabric-based client modpack adds proximity voice chat, performance tools, zoom, shulker previews, optional shader support, and other visual utilities. Server-side additions include armor-stand editing, mini-blocks, additional heads, and other quality-of-life features.
Blithe runs a seasonal Survival world with a 12,000-block border and a separate Creative world with a 7,500-block border. Creative doubles as a testing space for survival builds and contains a Games District that does not reset. The server also maintains shared Spawn and Nether Hub areas with player-travel infrastructure.
PvP is enabled but consent-based, and pranks follow the same rule. Blithe is not an anarchy server, and griefing, raiding, and taking from private farms without permission are prohibited.
The Shopping District is the center of player trade. Shops use 16×16 plots priced at 32 diamonds, products must display prices, and owners have set timeframes to start building and selling. The economy is player-run rather than a server-wide NPC shop ladder.
Recurring activities include the Shopping District opening, a server-wide dragon fight when the End opens, build competitions, boss battles, Creative Week, Anarchy Weekend, and community-made games. Event Quests can also send players through timed activities such as races, carnivals, or capture-the-flag challenges for diamond rewards.
Blithe is whitelist-only with an application process handled through Discord. The server aims for a mature adult atmosphere, keeps global chat in English, and uses proximity voice chat to make building, shopping, and events more social.
Respect and consent shape the server. Hate speech, harassment, political discussion, griefing, raiding, unfair mods, duping, lag machines, and unapproved PvP are prohibited. Builds should keep distance from other claimed areas, and support issues go through tickets rather than public chat.
The official Tebex store sells server ranks. The gameplay model is not built around land claims, teleportation, or pay-to-win progression, but players should review current rank contents before purchasing.
Seasonal resets periodically begin a new world cycle while giving players a defined period to develop the current world.

History of Blithe SMP
Blithe opened publicly on March 11, 2021 as a small whitelisted SMP created during the COVID-era period of isolation. It grew around the Hermitcraft format, with Survival as the main shared world and Creative as a place to test builds and host community games.
Over time, Blithe settled into a two-season annual cycle. Summer and winter seasons reset the Survival world, then bring back familiar rituals such as the Shopping District opening, an End-opening dragon fight, Creative Week, and Anarchy Weekend. Season downloads let players preserve their finished work.
By its fifth anniversary in March 2026, Blithe was in Season 10 and had gone through an ownership change in 2025 while continuing its community-focused format.
