About Aspera SMP
Last updated
Aspera Bay is a harbour city built around a Rift that opened inside an old volcano, and your first trip out of spawn drops you into a fresh wilderness twice as tall as vanilla. You claim land with Towny, earn gold by playing, and slowly kit yourself out with custom tools, armour and weapons.
There is plenty to chase: seven dungeons for 1 to 6 players, Rift bosses that rise twice a day, thirty spells and gear that grows stronger the more you use it. You keep your items when you die. Java and Bedrock players share one world, and no mods are needed beyond the server resource pack.
What Makes It Different
Some gear on Aspera is sentient: weapons like Sunder and Vesper level up with you, and the Warden can go from a boss you fight to a partner you carry.
Players found towns, claim chunks and pay daily upkeep with Towny.
A story setting, class armour sets, spells, dungeons and Rift bosses.
One shared survival world for Java and Bedrock players.
Gold banking, a Global Market, player shops and jobs.
Head out with /wilderness to find a spot, settle a town, then work jobs, fish, dig for archaeology finds or run dungeons. Seven instanced dungeons have lives, checkpoints and their own armour sets.
Gear has sockets for Runes, and armour sets give class bonuses for Healer, Ranger, Duelist and Bastion. Everyone starts at Default and moves up to Advanced for free after 24 hours of play, with a Veteran star at 30 days.
Towns pay daily upkeep and can raise working buildings like an Oil Pump or Grain Silo. Cavern bosses rise from the Rift at set times each day, and Friday raids give richer rewards.
Spawn has PvP turned off and killing a player pays nothing. Duels are opt-in with /duel and take place in the Arena pit, where winners earn Valor Medals and gold.
Gold is earned in play, not bought. You can bank it, sell through the Global Market or your own shop, and spend it on town land and upkeep.
Seasonal events change the town through the year, like Hallow's Eve with the Headless Horseman and the Nights of Noel. There is also a weekly Fishing Tournament.
The Laws of Aspera are read in game with /rules. Chat is filtered, and a restart only happens when every online player agrees.
Free to play. Optional ranks are one-time purchases that add homes, vaults and perks.
Hundreds of custom tools, weapons and armour pieces, including sentient gear like Stix and Sunder that levels up as you use it.
A web map at the official site shows Aspera's world and towns as they grow.
Gold moves through a Global Market and player-run shops, with trade screens all over Aspera Bay.
You found a town with Towny, claim chunks around it and can raise working buildings like a Grain Silo.
Dying on Aspera does not cost you your items, so a bad dungeon run is not the end of your kit.
Seven instanced dungeons for 1 to 6 players, each with lives, checkpoints and its own armour to earn.
Thirty spells across six schools run on cooldowns instead of mana, alongside elemental staffs.
Cavern bosses rise from the Rift twice a day, and Friday raids give richer rewards.
Every Aspera town pays its upkeep in gold once a day, so a town needs active members to keep going.
Custom gear has sockets you fill with Runes, and armour sets add class bonuses for Healer, Ranger, Duelist or Bastion.
