About 2b2t
2b2t is a hard-difficulty survival server with one enormous world that keeps changing without ever being reset. You gather supplies, travel away from spawn, build a base, join groups, trade, explore ruins or fight other players.
What Makes It Different
Most servers protect your progress or start fresh every season. 2b2t does neither. Its world keeps the scars, roads, ruins and hidden structures left by every earlier generation of players.
Anarchy is a Minecraft server style where players operate under very few enforced rules, leaving survival and conflict largely in player hands.
Open-ended survival has minimal gameplay restrictions, unrestricted PvP and griefing, and player-controlled progression.
Semi-Vanilla servers keep Minecraft’s ordinary survival progression while adding a limited set of server-specific changes around it.
The server retains ordinary Minecraft survival while adding modified terrain, mob spawning, player spawning, and other custom systems.
Raiding is attacking another player’s base to breach its defenses, reach its valuables, and weaken or destroy its ability to operate.
Players can locate, attack, loot, and destroy other players' bases, stashes, and settlements.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Players gather resources, craft equipment, build bases and farms, explore, and survive in a hard-difficulty world.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The same main world has remained online since the server's early history without regular resets.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Open player-versus-player combat, including ambushes, traps, crystal fights, chase battles, and group warfare, is central.
The main goal is self-made. Start with basic resources, survive the damaged areas around spawn and travel until you find a place to operate. Players build bases, farms, roads, portal routes and supply stashes, often far from the center.
There is no official level path, quest line or server-wide objective. Progress means gaining equipment, food, transport, knowledge and trusted allies. Reaching a distant base or keeping one hidden can matter more than collecting a formal rank.
2b2t uses custom server software and modified vanilla systems to support large numbers of players in one world. Changes include hard difficulty, modified terrain generation, altered monster spawning, varied spawn positions, movement-cheat limits, player-data obfuscation and custom death messages.
The world is persistent and has not been reset since its early history. Spawn is heavily damaged, while distant regions contain old highways, abandoned bases, farms, monuments, map art and traces of forgotten groups.
PvP is open across the survival world. Ambushes, traps, crystal fights, chase battles and group warfare are common risks. Combat is only one danger; revealing a portal route or base location can be just as costly.
There is no managed server economy. Players exchange items through private trades, hidden caches and informal markets. Rare gear, transport supplies and information can be more valuable than ordinary currency.
Players form temporary or long-lasting groups around building, travel, raiding, defense, trading and historical projects. Some cooperate on large bases or infrastructure, while others remain independent and avoid sharing their location.
PvP and griefing have no normal gameplay restrictions. Players must follow Minecraft and Microsoft community standards. Exploits that cause server disruption or lag are prohibited, as are spam, automated chat, real-life harassment, hateful symbols and hateful speech. Punishments can include mutes or bans.
The server sells Priority Queue access through its official shop. It is a recurring purchase that lets an account join faster when the normal queue is full.
Hidden bases are concealed player homes designed to protect resources and equipment from discovery, attack, theft, or destruction.
Keeping a distant base hidden is a major form of progress because other players may discover, raid, or destroy it.
Players exchange items or services directly through negotiated deals rather than relying on a centralized marketplace or fixed economy.
2b2t has no managed currency economy; players use private trades, hidden caches, and informal markets for valuable supplies.
Hidden caches are concealed stores of items or resources placed for later recovery, protection, transport, or emergency use.
Players maintain hidden supply stashes and caches containing equipment, food, transport supplies, or other valuable materials.
Players begin in varied locations rather than sharing one identical spawn point, changing early travel and survival decisions.
Players spawn at varied positions within 2048 blocks of 0,0, rather than at one fixed initial location.
Player data obfuscation conceals or transforms information that could otherwise reveal player activity, positions, or world-related details.
2b2t includes player-data obfuscation among its custom systems, limiting how some player-related information is exposed.
Player infrastructure consists of lasting roads, routes, structures, and other world changes that support travel, settlement, and ongoing activity.
Players create roads, portal routes, farms, and other long-lasting infrastructure across the persistent world to support travel and operations.
Server-altered terrain generation changes how Minecraft landscapes, resources, or structures are formed and explored.
2b2t uses modified terrain generation as part of its custom server software rather than relying entirely on standard world generation.
Server-specific mob spawning rules alter which hostile creatures appear, where they appear, or how frequently encounters occur.
2b2t uses changed monster spawning rules as one of its targeted modifications to ordinary Minecraft survival systems.

History of 2b2t
2b2t began in 2010 as a small survival server for friends. A few months later, it opened to the public. Its founding idea was to let players decide what to do while keeping the world online as long as people remained interested. The current world dates to late 2010, although its exact creation day is unknown.
From its early history onward, the main world remained persistent rather than being regularly reset. This continuity became central to the server's identity, allowing its player activity, locations, and changes to accumulate within the same world.
Over time, 2b2t developed custom systems alongside its survival gameplay. These included modified terrain generation, changed monster spawning, and varied player spawning within 2048 blocks of 0,0. Movement-cheat restrictions, player-data obfuscation, random map IDs, and customized death messages further distinguished the server from an unmodified vanilla world.
The server gained major attention in 2016 after TheCampingRusher published videos about it. A large influx of new players followed, and the period became associated with the Rusher War. The sudden growth also made a queue and paid priority access important parts of the server's infrastructure.
For several years, the Nocom exploit exposed player and base locations. This period ended when server changes were implemented on July 15, 2021, stopping the exploit's operation.
A major technical transition came in August 2023. On August 14, 2b2t moved its world from the 1.12 era to 1.19. The server rolled back on August 25, then updated again on August 26 without chunk culling and the soft item-economy reset.
On June 4, 2025, 2b2t updated to 1.21.4. The update continued the server's pattern of modifying vanilla systems, including terrain, mobs, and PvP information.
Today, 2b2t remains defined by its persistent world, long accumulation of player activity, custom gameplay systems, and continuing technical changes. Its history runs from a small private survival server to a large, enduring world whose rules and infrastructure have evolved without abandoning that persistent foundation.
