Something called the Fading is killing the Old Lands of Athosia. Crops wither, rivers go still and even stone weakens, so people are crossing the Great Sea to Umbria. Your character is one of them. You apply with a backstory, pick a race such as the forest Elfin, the stone-working Grokon or the clan-based Turuk, and arrive on Spawn Island.
From there you settle in. You choose two professions, join a settlement through its town hall lectern and trade, build and roleplay with others. Fights are slow and fair, settled with emotes and dice. Uros is Java only and played in English.
What Makes It Different
Every player is a written character in one shared story about refugees fleeing the Fading, and settlements, trades and fights are all run in character.
A medieval fantasy world where every player writes and plays a character.
You play one character at a time and stay in character in local chat, using emotes to show what you do. Contested actions use a d20 roll, the higher roll wins and ties reroll.
You pick a Primary and a Secondary profession with /professions. The Primary earns 10% more experience, each milestone tier unlocks perks, and you can swap a profession once a day, but leaving one clears its levels.
Uros has two sides split by the Great Expanse: Athosia, the Old Lands where the Fading spreads, and Umbria, a scatter of landmasses and islands. Alphos, a small island peninsula, was the first refuge for the settlers.
Combat needs a clear in-character reason, goes one move or action per turn and is decided by rolls. A killed character returns to the Spawn Zone, forgets the fight and cannot rejoin it for 20 minutes. Permanent death only happens with the player's consent or under lore or event terms agreed beforehand.
Settlements are run by players with roles from Member and Farmer up to Steward and Owner. Owners keep a treasury that pays upkeep, and regions can charge their members tax.
Uros is for players aged 16 and over. Metagaming, powergaming, random attacks, combat logging and griefing are banned, builds must fit the medieval fantasy setting, and sexual roleplay is not allowed.
The store is being rebuilt. Its planned ranks are cosmetic, such as name colours, particle trails, emotes and forum perks.
Characters are Humans of Astrya, Elfin of Elyiore, Grokon of Dol'Barr, Turuk of Magra, Elthari, Merrinfolk or Yakuma, each with its own lore page.
Settlement roles go from Member, who cannot build, through Farmer and Builder up to Manager, Steward and Owner.
You apply on the forums with a character backstory and a short rules quiz, and staff add you to the whitelist once accepted.
Settlements are claimed regions with a lectern in the town hall where players apply to join with two questions about their character.
Locks made by a Smith secure doors, chests and furnaces, and /lock edit lets you rename them, make them public or add members.
Nine trades from Logging and Mining to Smithing, Tailoring and Cooking, with one Primary and one Secondary per character.
Each settlement pays upkeep from its Claim Treasury, and the owner and stewards get a warning when funds run low.
A required resource pack is part of the first steps after your application is accepted.
