About SnailCraft
SnailCraft is a survival SMP where players gather resources, build bases, explore the wild, and protect their land with claims. Player shops and public warps make it easy to trade, visit farms, and see what others have built.
The server adds a gentle layer of custom content without replacing normal Minecraft survival. Players can take quests, adopt pets, hunt monthly plushies, visit a changing travelling cart, open crates, and spend time in creative worlds or minigames.
What Makes It Different
SnailCraft makes survival feel like a cozy collecting hobby. Alongside normal building, players can gather pets, plushies, custom items, quest rewards, and seasonal discoveries in a world where the snail theme is part of everyday play.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
Custom items, decorative tools, pets, plushies, crate rewards, and donor content strongly distinguish the server.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
Claim protection is central to base building, with claim blocks earned through play and sold in the store.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Community bases, player shops, public warps, trading, and shared events define the multiplayer survival experience.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server is fundamentally a survival world focused on gathering, building, exploration, and long-term bases.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Diamonds, player shops, travelling-cart purchases, voting rewards, and trade rules form a major part of progression.
Begin with normal survival: gather food, mine, craft, explore, and choose a place for your base. Use claims to protect your land, sethomes to travel between important places, and player warps to visit community builds and farms. The shop world handles player trading, while creative plots and minigames offer a break from survival.
Voting builds a free rank path from Sprout to Celestial. Each step adds more sethomes, and Traveler rank at 16 votes unlocks a standard shop plot, a creative plot, and basic WorldEdit tools. Quests, voting, and gameplay can provide crate keys and other rewards. Donor ranks add claim blocks, commands, pets, homes, shop access, and larger creative plots.
Custom content includes server-side items, decorative tools, custom pets, monthly plushies, crate rewards, and donor mounts. The Pet Shop offers animals such as ducks, owls, snails, lavendeer, shrimp, and loons. The travelling cart rotates its stock each month.
The network combines a main survival world with wild areas, protected claims, a dedicated player-shop world, creative plots, public player warps, and spawn-based feature areas. The world includes separate locations for crates, quests, pets, newsletters, and seasonal activities.
PvP is enabled in the wild and in Hydra-enabled claims. PvP-disabled areas and trading areas provide safer spaces. Teleport killing, trapping, pushing players from safe areas into PvP, and killing around trades are prohibited.
Diamonds are central to player trading. The shop world lets players sell items, and the travelling cart uses diamond blocks for custom decor and tools. Gambling, betting, player banks, investing, and interest-based storage systems are not allowed.
A monthly travelling cart changes its selection of custom decor and tools. A monthly Plushie of the Month hunt sends players after a different mob bounty. Creative build competitions and additional player-run or server-run events may also take place.
English is the main shared language for public chat. Local chat and direct messages may use other languages. The Discord community provides announcements, player help, support, reports, appeals, and updates about new content.
Respectful conduct, fair play, and safe content are required. Griefing, raiding, stealing, cheating, duplication, bug abuse, scamming, staff impersonation, unsafe content, and harassment are prohibited. Builds must stay within lag and entity limits. X-ray, automining, combat-assist clients, radar-style minimaps, freecam, movement cheats, and similar unfair modifications are not allowed.
The server is free to join. Optional purchases include donor ranks, pets, claim blocks, crate keys, unlimited sethomes, and temporary custom ranks. Voting and quests also provide routes to rank progress and crate rewards, so several useful perks do not require a purchase.

History of SnailCraft
SnailCraft's Discord community was created on December 31, 2024. By January 3, 2025, the server presented itself as a Java-and-Bedrock survival SMP with a cozy, social style.
During spring 2025, SnailCraft established a formal rules framework covering community conduct, fair play, claims, griefing, trading, PvP, shops, and creative plots. In March, player-content guidelines established clear limits for builds, books, map art, and other shared creations.
The server's early identity grew around ordinary survival with extra reasons to return. Quests, pets, crates, player shops, player warps, custom items, and a creative world gave players several ways to spend time beyond mining and building.
Voting became part of the progression path. Vote ranks gradually add sethomes, shop access, creative access, and basic WorldEdit tools, while donor ranks add larger claim allowances, more homes, special commands, pets, and creative-world perks.
The rules continued to evolve through late 2025. Changes covered shop limits, redstone doors, lag-producing farms, and the treatment of cobblestone generators, keeping the server's building economy focused on stable shared worlds.
In 2026, the guidelines were refined again for transparent-lava mining assistance, shop construction, map art, and written books. SnailCraft now stands as a long-running cozy survival network built around protected homes, community trading, collectible custom content, and play across Java and Bedrock.
SnailCraft FAQ
Are mods or a modpack required to play SnailCraft?
No. SnailCraft's custom content is designed to work without a gameplay modpack. Optional clients and mods are allowed only when they follow the server's fair-play guidelines.
What happens if a shop plot is inactive?
A shop plot may be reset after 30 days without activity. A sign can request extra time, allowing the plot to be held for up to 60 days.
How do I unlock a creative plot?
You can claim a basic creative plot after reaching Traveler rank at 16 votes, or through a donor rank. Higher donor ranks unlock additional plots and larger WorldEdit options.
