About Project AZOTH
Across a connected map inspired by Pokémon regions, players catch and battle Pokémon, explore custom locations, build survival towns, and work through gym and champion progression. Project AZOTH combines Cobblemon with scripted adventure content, roleplay opportunities, an economy, and player-led events rather than presenting a conventional single-world survival server.
What Makes It Different
Project AZOTH links multiple Pokémon regions into one survival-oriented world and uses adaptive gym scaling. Gym teams are designed to respond to a player's party strength and badge progress, while the Orre portion adds a Shadow Pokémon storyline inspired by Pokémon Colosseum. The combination gives the server a longer-form adventure structure than a basic Cobblemon survival map.
Adventure servers center Minecraft play on exploring a designed world and completing objectives that lead to new areas, encounters, or story developments.
Players explore a connected Pokémon-region world, follow scripted stories, challenge gyms, and pursue champion-oriented objectives.
Cobblemon is a modded Minecraft experience where players find, catch, train, and battle Pokémon-like creatures while exploring the world.
Catching, training, and battling Pokémon-like creatures define the server's main gameplay, supported by the required AZOTH Cobblemon modpack.
Modded Minecraft servers use game mods to add or change mechanics, content, or progression beyond the unmodified game.
Players must install a dedicated Cobblemon modpack and its dependencies, while custom plugins and content extend standard Minecraft.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server combines Pokémon progression with open-world survival, resource gathering, building, and town development.
Roleplay is Minecraft gameplay where players act as characters in a shared fictional world and make choices from those characters’ perspectives.
Players can take identities such as gym leader, town mayor, or master trainer within the shared regional world.
The main play combines Cobblemon collection and battles with open-world exploration, survival building, town development, and scripted adventure content. Players can pursue roles such as gym leader, town mayor, or master trainer, while McMMO-style skills, minigames, economy features, and community events add activities beyond the regional storyline.
Progression centers on exploring regions, earning badges, challenging adaptive gyms, and working toward champion or master-trainer status. Gym difficulty is intended to scale with both the strength of a player's party and the number of badges earned, keeping later encounters from becoming trivial as a team develops.
Project AZOTH uses the server AZOTH Cobblemon modpack with tailored plugins, custom NPCs, scripted interactions, item-storage systems, TM Cases, Game Corner games, and a Shadow Pokémon storyline in Orre. Its custom content is built around a Pokémon adventure world rather than a lightly modified vanilla survival map.
The custom world connects region-inspired areas based on Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, and Paldea, with Orre and other Pokémon-media influences included as well. It also contains areas inspired by the unreleased Pokémon Spaceworld beta, alongside survival towns, roleplay locations, and event spaces.
Competitive Pokémon battling is a central part of the server alongside gym progression and survival play. Project AZOTH is also tagged for PvP and competitive gameplay, though the available connection material does not establish a separate unrestricted Minecraft war or raiding mode.
An economy and Towny-style settlement layer sit alongside the Pokémon adventure. Custom NPC interactions include item storage, usable TM Cases, and Game Corner activities. The exact currency, shop, auction, taxation, and player-trading systems are not part of the documented player-facing details.
The server supports player-based events and custom event locations. Community participation is part of how the AZOTH world grows, with players able to contribute through events, towns, roles, and other shared locations.
Project AZOTH has a dedicated Discord community and presents itself as a community-driven Cobblemon server where players can help shape the world. Its monitored population is that of a small specialist server, with recurring activity and recent peaks in the mid-twenties rather than a large network-scale player base.
Joining requires the server AZOTH Cobblemon modpack and its required dependencies on Minecraft Java Edition. Add play.projectazoth.net to the multiplayer menu after installing the required content.
Purchases support the team, with donor ranks named Beast and Cherish. The server's stated monetization approach avoids crates, lootboxes, and unfair ranks rather than making store progression the center of gameplay.
Adaptive gyms adjust opponent difficulty or team composition to reflect a player's progression, preparation, or battle strength.
Project AZOTH scales gym teams according to both a player's Pokémon party strength and the number of badges earned.
A connected regional world links multiple themed areas into one explorable setting instead of separating them into unrelated maps.
The map connects areas inspired by Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, Kalos, Alola, Galar, Paldea, Orre, and other Pokémon media.
Badge progression uses earned badges to mark advancement through a sequence of gym challenges or regional goals.
Players explore the connected regions, challenge gyms, collect badges, and work toward champion or master-trainer status.
A narrative arc built around Shadow Pokémon and the conflicts, encounters, or objectives associated with them.
The Orre area contains a Shadow Pokémon storyline inspired by Pokémon Colosseum, adding scripted narrative content to regional exploration.
Custom NPC interactions add server-authored characters that provide dialogue, services, items, or scripted activities beyond ordinary villagers.
Custom NPCs handle item storage, usable TM Cases, Game Corner activities, and other scripted interactions across the world.
Themed Game Corner attractions offer optional short activities or minigames distinct from a server's main progression.
Project AZOTH includes Game Corner activities delivered through custom NPC interactions, giving players optional diversions beyond adventure and survival.
Player roles give participants named identities or responsibilities, such as leaders or specialists, within a shared multiplayer setting.
Players can pursue roles including gym leader, town mayor, or master trainer within the connected Pokémon world.
TM Cases are specialized Pokémon-themed items or interfaces for organizing, carrying, or using technical-machine content.
Project AZOTH includes usable TM Cases among its custom Pokémon item systems and NPC-supported interactions.
A required modpack bundles custom content and dependencies that players must install before joining or using a modded server.
Players must install the AZOTH Cobblemon modpack and its required dependencies before joining Project AZOTH.
NPC item storage lets players deposit or retrieve belongings through non-player characters rather than relying solely on placed containers.
Project AZOTH's custom NPC interactions include item storage as a documented service within its broader Pokémon adventure world.
A skill progression system that improves separate abilities as players repeatedly perform their associated Minecraft activities.
McMMO-style skills supplement Pokémon and survival progression by rewarding repeated activities with developing abilities.

History of Project AZOTH
Project AZOTH traces its beginnings to 2011 and passed through several phases and servers before returning to its original community. It began taking its present shape in 2020, after which it was rebranded under the server AZOTH name.
The current staff grew out of a group that had moved between servers looking for a suitable home before deciding to create its own. The server also maintains continuity with earlier Pokémon communities, including previous forks and The PokemonServer, with returning veterans potentially having earlier contributions recognized.
