Pick Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle, then head out into a hand-built world of 17 locations. On PokeSky battles happen in real time: your Pokemon fights by your side, you swap moves on the fly, and you knock wild Pokemon out before you throw a Poke Ball. The farther you travel from the start, the tougher they get.
No mods are needed. You play on Java with the server resource pack turned on. Along the way you level up, evolve your team at Professor Kao's, challenge friends to duels and build on your own floating island. The server and its guides are in Polish.
What Makes It Different
Pokemon catching and real-time battles run on plain Java with only a resource pack, so there is no modpack to install.
Most fights are against wild Pokemon, NPCs and skull-marked boss Pokemon.
A built Pokemon world where you level a trainer, catch, evolve and fight bosses.
Run /tutorial after joining, choose a starter and explore. Shrines in each main area hold a teleport chip that adds the location to your Pokedex map, and red and blue wool mark one-time and daily treasure chests.
Your trainer level limits which Pokemon you can send out, so you level up alongside your team. Boss Pokemon, marked with a skull, drop smithing templates for Netherite gear.
There are no resets planned, so your Pokemon and items stay as long as the server runs. You keep your inventory when you die.
Challenge another player to a Pokemon duel. Switching a Pokemon that has not fainted, healing or teleporting mid-fight means an instant loss.
You earn PokeDollars from battles and by recycling Pokemon you do not need, then spend them on Poke Balls and potions at the Market in town.
Free to play with no shop during the Beta. The team says any future store will only sell looks, never an advantage.
Cast a line to fish up Pokemon, with a ranking for whoever has caught the most this way.
Sixteen rankings track things like trainer level, Pokedex progress, shiny Pokemon defeated and bosses beaten.
Your floating Skyblock island is your private building space, and you choose who can visit or build there.
Each main location has its own boss Pokemon, marked with a skull, that drop smithing templates.
There is no shop during the Beta, and the team says any future store will sell only cosmetic items.
Send a duel request to any player and battle Pokemon against Pokemon until one side has none left.
Your trainer level must stay close to your Pokemon's level before you can send it out, so you grow together.

History of PokeSky
PokeSky grew out of a hobby project made by players for players. In March 2023 the team began posting guides that explained why the server skips Pixelmon and how to play without a launcher or mods. A few weeks later, in April 2023, a full questions and answers page followed.
By April 2026 PokeSky was still in Beta, with no item shop at all, and the team promised that nothing sold later would give an edge. The world has never been reset, and none are planned.
