About Craft Down Under
Craft Down Under is a Java modded Minecraft network built around many separate modpack servers. Pick a pack, install its matching profile, and join that pack's own address. Choices range from tech and magic packs to RPG, skyblock, Cobblemon and community-created projects.
There is no shared hub to browse. Each pack runs as its own world, with US, Australian or European addresses when available. That gives experienced modded players a large menu of long-term worlds, but newcomers must choose a pack and match its version before joining.
What Makes It Different
Craft Down Under feels more like a shelf of multiplayer modpacks than one Minecraft server. You can move from a large tech pack to magic, exploration, skyblock or creature-focused play without leaving the same community.
The network also lets players help shape future pack choices. That makes the server list feel alive instead of fixed forever.
Modded Minecraft servers use game mods to add or change mechanics, content, or progression beyond the unmodified game.
The network is fundamentally built around hosted Minecraft modpacks.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Players share long-term multiplayer worlds and community progression.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Its main pack experience is persistent modded survival gameplay.
Choose a pack from the Craft Down Under server list and install the matching CurseForge profile. The client must use the same Minecraft version, modloader and pack version as the chosen server.
Each pack has its own address. When several regions exist, choose the US, AU or EU address closest to you. The main nohub address is not a shared lobby.
Progression depends on the selected modpack. Some packs focus on machines and automation, while others center on magic, quests, combat, exploration, creatures or structured challenges.
Longer-running worlds can also reward time played, voting and community activity through ranks, extra claim space, chunkloading capacity, homes and salary bonuses.
Craft Down Under adds network tools around its hosted packs, including claims, chunkloading controls, playtime ranks, voting rewards, chat links and account linking.
The community also helps choose new packs through suggestions and votes. Custom patches, guides and companion tools support selected modpacks without replacing the identity of each pack.
Every modpack has its own dedicated world and progression path. Some popular packs run in multiple regional instances, such as US, AU and EU servers.
Regional instances may share community chat, but they are not one universal world. The exact server address and available regions depend on the pack.
Craft Down Under is mainly built around cooperative PvE and social play. PvP is allowed only when all players involved give consent in chat before fighting.
Competitive events can use stricter settings, including disabling purchased gameplay perks to keep the event fair.
The network uses a Quasar economy with regular salary payments, an auction house, player chest shops, trading and server shops.
Players can earn money through normal pack gameplay, jobs on supported worlds and selling items to other players. Economy features vary between modpacks.
Community activities have included Easter egg hunts, build competitions, games nights, modpack launch competitions, tournaments and seasonal giveaways.
Events are usually tied to a particular pack or community milestone, so the format changes throughout the year.
The main community spaces are Discord and the Craft Down Under forum. Players can link their Minecraft and Discord accounts, ask for support, suggest modpacks and find other players for shared worlds.
The community welcomes players from around the world and permits any language when conversation remains appropriate.
Cheats, hacks, unfair resource packs, bug exploits, harassment, hate speech, griefing, stealing and damaging communal areas are prohibited.
Players should ask before building or claiming within seven chunks of someone else. PvP requires consent. Mob farms need an off switch, and chunkloading must use CDU Chunks or FTBChunks. Purchased benefits are for personal use and cannot be shared, except for claims and chunkloads with established base-mates.
The servers are free to play with a valid Minecraft Java Edition account. Optional purchases include server-specific ranks, community-wide ranks, subscriptions, lifetime packages and other support-related benefits.
Ranks can also be earned through playtime and voting. Purchased utilities are intended for personal convenience, and disruptive use can lead to perk removal or account action.

History of Craft Down Under
Craft Down Under was operating by June 2022 as a small Australian community focused on multiplayer modpacks. Its early lineup included FTB Plexiglass Mountain, Direwolf20, Techopolis, Enigmatica, All the Mods, StoneBlock, Medieval Minecraft, Vault Hunters and Better Minecraft.
In August 2022, the network opened its first North American server. This marked the start of a broader regional setup, giving players outside Australia a closer place to play while keeping the same community identity.
By early 2023, PlayCDU had expanded into a multi-region network with Australian, American and European servers. Its hosted lineup grew beyond the original packs, and the network added features such as synchronized chat, playtime rewards, regular backups and community voting.
The network also moved beyond simply hosting third-party packs. Craft Down Under: Beasts and Beyond was created for the community, combining magic, combat, exploration, Create-based automation and quests. A Vanilla/SMP server added claims, jobs, player shops, an auction house and the Karma system.
During 2024, the community became more organized around newsletters, games nights, seasonal hunts, build competitions and modpack launch events. BigChadGuys Plus received a dedicated competitive tournament, while the website gained stronger server-list, leaderboard and guide features.
The same period included a serious European hosting outage. The European servers were later moved to an alternate host with stronger hardware and performance, turning a difficult interruption into a major infrastructure change.
In 2025 and 2026, the network continued rotating in newer packs such as Mayview, Project Infinity, Soulrend, FTB Skies 2, All the Mods 10, Society packs, Create-focused packs and other community projects. The current network combines long-running modded survival with new pack launches, regional addresses and tools built specifically for its players.
