In the kingdom of Erianor, nobles rule by old custom while merchants in the growing cities fight for more say. You arrive with nothing, ask a noble for a free village plot and start to earn Dinare, the local money. From there you can learn one of nine trades, rent a market stall in the capital Repugnaria or buy a house in an imperial city.
MedievalCraft is a German-speaking roleplay server for Java. You speak as your character, so modern slang stays out of chat, and normal talk only reaches players within 30 blocks. A wiki called the Kompendium holds the laws, history and guides, and the forum carries court cases, feuds and news.
What Makes It Different
Crafting is tied to roleplay: only a sworn guild member can make diamond tools, bows or enchanting tables, and you climb from apprentice to master through exams set by other players.

Dinare, rented market stalls, player shops and guild-made goods drive trade.
Daily life is roleplay: building in the style of the kingdom, trading at markets, taking quests from NPCs and hunting treasure in dangerous abandoned places. Chat has whisper, normal and shout ranges, and out-of-character talk goes in double brackets.
You move up through social ranks, from a village plot to city citizen, Patrizier and the nobility. Trades go from apprentice to journeyman with a written letter, and nobles can raise you to master.
Erianor has imperial cities, counties, villages and dark places like the forests of Tiefenwalde, where undead creatures from the Bestiarium hunt players. The capital is Repugnaria.
The money is Dinare. Basic goods are bought and sold in the harbour district of Repugnaria, but player shops beat the expensive market hall. City plots, market stalls and fields cost Dinare to buy or rent.
Four orders named after the gods Miran, Marlo, Morolon and Milron form the king's army and take experienced players by forum application. Feuds and court cases are settled under the kingdom's own law, the Magna Charta Libertatum.
You must be at least 14. Griefing, stealing, killing other players' animals, client mods, bug abuse, advertising and real-world politics or religion are banned.
Free to play. The team runs it as volunteers and it is not a commercial server.
Players rent stalls and shops at the Great Market and in imperial city market halls to sell their guild goods.
NPCs around Erianor hand out quests and jobs as part of the roleplay.
The Bestiarium lists undead such as the Higher Retainer and Milron's Offspring that roam dark forests and hit hard.
Owning land moves you up from villager to citizen and Patrizier, and the nobility hands out estates and titles.
Treasure is hidden in dangerous abandoned places across the land for brave players to find.
Lock your chests, ovens and doors with /cprivate so only you can open them.
Nine guilds such as Bogner, Plattner and Magus each hold the right to craft certain items, and you learn one as an apprentice.
An official MedievalCraft texture pack was released in October 2026.
