Rootbound keeps the vanilla survival you know and stacks a long RPG climb on top. You pick a spot on the Mainland, claim a base and start leveling skills like Mining, Farming, Fishing and Combat. Every 25 levels in a skill earns a Talent Point, and each point offers three random talents, so no two players grow the same way.
Your tools grow with you too. Each Rootbound tool never breaks and moves from Stone to Netherite as you spend the fragments you earn by using it. When the Mainland feels safe, the Frontier waits with dungeons, bosses and contracts. The server is Java only and in English.
What Makes It Different
Talents are offered at random from a pool of 120, three at a time, so every player ends up with a different build. Tools, armour and even each fish species have their own long mastery tracks.

You start on the Mainland, find land with a random teleport and build a claimed base. From there you level skills, take missions and contracts, and head to the Frontier for PvE adventure. Hallow, an underground world with boosted ores and custom biomes, is still being built.
There are 60 ranks and more than 12 skills. Talent Points come at skill levels 25, 50, 75, 100 and every 25 levels after. Tools unlock by rank, and rare armour sets unlock when the matching skill hits level 30.
Over 45 custom plugins add things like eight rare armour sets (Deepstone, Tidecaller, Gravewarden and more), an Alchemist who mixes vanilla potions into multi-effect potions, and a fishing journal.
The Frontier starts at The Outpost and has danger zones, points of interest, dungeons, bosses and loot caches. Exploring earns Tokens and finishing contracts earns Contract Marks, which buy rewards like a Frontier armour bundle.
Money comes from selling fish, crops and loot, and players trade through chest shops and player warps. You can buy NPC helpers for your claim, such as a Blacksmith who forges armour or a Gardener with a crop market that changes every 12 hours.
Free to play. Support is optional and only gives cosmetics, like a Donor tag, walking effects and name colors.
The Mainland has 249 fish across six habitats and the Frontier 150 more, with rarer catches unlocked by your Fishing level.
Over 12 skills, from Mining and Woodcutting to Agility and Enchanting, level up as you play and feed your talents.
The website has a live world map, plus leaderboards and player profiles you can browse.
You claim land for your base and can place NPC helpers like the Blacksmith or Angler inside it for trusted friends to use.
The Frontier PvE world, reached from The Outpost, mixes dungeons and danger zones with boss fights and loot caches.
Support only buys cosmetics such as name colors and walking effects, so all gear, ranks and talents come from playing.
Sixty ranks mark your climb, and each new Rootbound tool unlocks at a set rank, from the Pickaxe at Novice I to the Rod at Apprentice I.
Each Talent Point offers three random talents from a pool of 120, and you can own only one powerful Keystone talent.
Players run their own chest shops and can point others to them with player warps.
Eight rare armour sets drop from skills like mining and fishing, and the Blacksmith can blend pieces from different sets.
