About MCManhunt

MCManhunt turns Minecraft Manhunt into a public matchmaking game. Runners gather resources and race toward the Ender Dragon while hunters track them with compasses. Teams, fresh worlds, and the main rules are prepared automatically.

The network also offers Hitman, Death Swap, Block Shuffle, Bingo, Speedrun, Random Items Challenge, Lava Rises, and a lobby PvP Arena. Games run on Java Edition with no mods or datapacks, and parties can queue together.

What Makes It Different

Most servers offer Manhunt as one small feature. MCManhunt makes it the main event, then adds many twists that can change the chase completely. One match may be a normal dragon race, while the next uses infections, random loot, invisibility, or role swaps.

MCManhunt Gameplay

Join the lobby, choose a mode, and enter a queue. The server creates the teams and a fresh world for the match.

In classic Manhunt, runners get a short head start. Hunters then receive tracking compasses and pursue them through the Overworld, Nether, and End. The runner wins by defeating the Ender Dragon. Hunters win by stopping the runner first.

Parties let friends enter the same game. The party leader chooses available settings and twists.

History of MCManhunt

MCManhunt began in 2020 as a public server for the Dream-style Manhunt format. Its first identity was simple: one team gathered resources and tried to finish Minecraft while another team chased them down.

By the end of 2020 and early 2021, the network had added automatic queues, party play, custom Manhunt plugins, many separate arenas, and support for solo players who wanted opponents without arranging a private game.

The early server focused on Minecraft 1.16 combat and Nether gameplay. Tracking compasses, runner head starts, team selection, and game-specific worlds formed the backbone of its matches.

The network then expanded beyond classic Manhunt. Death Swap, Block Shuffle, Speedrun, Hitman, Random Items Challenge, and Lava Rises gave players shorter challenges and new ways to use ordinary Minecraft survival skills.

Regional infrastructure in North America and Europe became part of the network's identity. Players could use the same public address while being placed into a nearby region for their games.

By 2024, MCManhunt had developed into a broader minigames network rather than a single-purpose chase server. Its matches combined standard survival objectives with custom settings, twists, events, and party rules.

During 2026, the network added a much larger settings system, rank-based twists, gem-funded progression, cosmetics, mounts, weapon skins, and more detailed guides for each mode. Its current game library includes classic Manhunt, several Manhunt variants, survival challenges, timed races, and the always-open lobby Arena.

Recent development has focused on new twists such as Freeze Tag, stronger leaver penalties, party improvements, safer fortress spawners, updated client support, and bug fixes for world loading and spectators. MCManhunt now stands as a competitive Java minigames network built around the tension of being chased.
