About Hydro Vanilla SMP
Hydro is a whitelisted, adults-only Vanilla SMP with a Hermitcraft-style focus on shared builds, farms, shops and long-term projects. Java and Bedrock players live together in one world, while PvP requires consent.
Season 13 is a Forever World that began on July 11, 2025. There is no scheduled reset, so large builds and technical projects have room to grow. The optional Fabric pack improves performance and adds small quality-of-life tools without changing survival mechanics.
What Makes It Different
Hydro combines a carefully screened 18+ whitelist with a genuinely vanilla world that is meant to last for years. The unusual part is not custom gear or complicated menus; it is being able to build technical projects in a stable community without a reset clock hanging over them.
Vanilla servers use Minecraft’s original blocks, items, rules, and progression without custom gameplay systems that redefine how players play.
Core survival, redstone and mob mechanics remain vanilla.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
Season 13 is intended to continue without a scheduled reset.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Players share one persistent community survival world.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server is centered on shared vanilla survival gameplay.
The server plays like a shared survival world rather than a minigame network. Players make bases, farms, shops and large community builds while using normal vanilla mechanics. Builders and technical players can work side by side without gameplay-changing plugins.
Progress comes from the world itself: better farms, larger builds, useful infrastructure and long-term projects. There are no ranks, economy levels or plugin-based power ladders. The long-running map lets players keep expanding instead of starting over every few months.
Java players can use an optional Fabric modpack focused on performance and quality of life. It includes tools such as improved rendering, higher-distance viewing support and small client conveniences. A cosmetic resource pack adds items such as hats, signs and banners, while VanillaTweaks datapacks add minor vanilla-friendly changes. Proximity voice chat and BlueMap are also available.
Season 13 is a long-term world that began on July 11, 2025. It has no scheduled reset; the community decides when a new season is worth starting. Previous seasons are archived with screenshots, statistics and downloadable world files.
PvP is allowed only with consent. Unsolicited attacks are against the rules, so combat is organized between willing players rather than imposed across the world. Raiding, stealing and griefing are also prohibited.
There is no server-wide economy plugin. Trading is player-driven, with shops and exchanges forming around farms, building materials and specialist services.
The community build gallery uses monthly voting to highlight standout builds from the current season. Community votes also decide whether the long-term world should eventually be replaced.
Hydro is strictly 18+ and whitelist-only. New players apply through Discord before joining, which keeps the group smaller and more intentional than an open public SMP. English is the permitted chat language, and proximity voice chat gives nearby builds and group projects a more social feel.
The main rules prohibit griefing, stealing, cheating, hacks, exploits, duplication and alternate accounts. PvP requires consent, and players are expected to treat one another respectfully. Moderation follows a strict no-warning approach, so breaking a rule can result in a ban immediately.
Joining and playing are free. The store is used for optional donations that support server costs, not for ranks, weapons, advantages or other pay-to-win perks.

History of Hydro Vanilla SMP
Hydro Vanilla SMP began in 2018 under Tehlo. Its first season lasted about seven weeks before the host lost the world file. The server restarted three days later with Season 2, then moved straight into Season 3 as the community grew beyond its original friend group.
The 2019 and 2020 seasons made Hydro more established. Seasons 4 and 5 built up longer-running settlements, farms and shared infrastructure. Season 6 lasted more than ten months and became the point where the community began settling into a durable survival rhythm.
Season 6.9 acted as a bridge between the sixth and seventh seasons. It was never intended to be a full season, but continued for months before Season 7 began in May 2021. The server kept its focus on vanilla survival and community projects rather than turning into a plugin-heavy network.
Season 8 became the longest season before the current world, lasting close to a year. It produced large builds and extensive infrastructure, and its longer lifespan helped shape Hydro's later approach to world resets. Seasons 9 and 10 followed as shorter chapters in 2023 and 2024.
Season 10 was Hydro's only fully modded season. It served as an experiment with a different style of Minecraft, but the server returned to vanilla roots for Season 11. That return reinforced the small whitelist, limited rules and survival-first format that players had come to expect.
Season 12 ran from December 2024 into July 2025. It lasted long enough for the community to move away from frequent seasonal turnover and toward a world that could remain open for years.
Season 13 launched on July 11, 2025, as Hydro's first official Forever World. It keeps the current community on one fresh map with no planned end date. A future reset requires a community decision, and completed seasons are preserved through world downloads and archives.
