About Cavetale
Cavetale keeps ordinary survival at the center while adding a deep layer of server-made progression. Players build in a claim-protected world, travel to a weekly mining world for resources and dungeons, develop Mining, Combat, and Archery skills, and use Coins, custom items, events, and minigames to give long-term play more direction.
What Makes It Different
Cavetale adds substantial progression without replacing the familiar survival foundation. Mining, melee combat, and archery each feed their own talent tree, while custom Mytems can change how players gather, travel, build, and fight. The result is a server where a normal base-building world connects to dungeons, renewable resource worlds, minigames, and recurring community challenges.
Events are organized Minecraft activities that give players a distinct objective and rules for a particular occasion or limited period.
Recurring weekend activities, seasonal events, build competitions, titles, trophies, and event rewards are prominent community activities.
Minigames are compact Minecraft games with their own rules, objective, and bounded play area, usually resolved in a single round.
The server provides multiple separate competitive and cooperative activities, including arena rounds, Capture the Flag, and Survival Games.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
More than 100 server-made Mytems provide specialized tools, weapons, movement options, furniture, and utility functions.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Gathering resources, crafting, farming, building, exploration, and hostile-mob survival form the main experience.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The server centers on cooperative multiplayer survival, shared building, exploration, and long-term player progression.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
Players establish protected homes, farms, towns, and shared builds through claims with trust and access controls.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Coins, player trading, chest shops, market stalls, auctions, and claim expenses connect major progression systems.
The main Build World is designed for long-term homes, farms, towns, and shared builds. Players can claim land, set homes, invite friends, open access to selected areas, and expand their protected territory with Coins. The separate Mining World supplies renewable resources, extra ores, caves, dungeons, and treasure, while Creative provides a space for large builds and minigame map creation. Cavetale also includes raids, minigames, auctions, markets, and convenience tools such as mass storage and the Magic Map.
Mining ores, defeating hostile mobs with melee attacks, and using bows or crossbows develop the three main skills. New skill levels grant Talent Points for unlocking perks in the related talent tree. Beginner quests introduce the server and lead into further tiers, while Coins support claim expansion, market activity, trading, and other progression expenses. Custom items add another layer through upgrades, collection, trading, and specialized utility.
The server's custom layer includes more than 100 Mytems, with examples such as upgraded tools, special weapons, a Magic Cape, a Witch Broom, a Structure Finder, a watering can, furniture, photos, mass storage, teleportation tools, and a talent system. Recent additions include NPC quest dialogue, upgradeable tools, claim editing tools, binoculars, friendship progression, and new minigames.
Cavetale's Build World is the stable place for homes and community construction. The Mining World resets about once a week and includes rotating biomes, extra ores, caves, dungeons, and treasure. Its attached Nether resets with it, while the End is unlocked through stronghold progression. Spawn, Creative, market areas, minigame spaces, and seasonal event worlds round out the network.
PvP is mainly concentrated in dedicated activities rather than being the sole purpose of the survival world. PvP Arena rounds let players choose kits and face changing rules such as lethal arrows, extra lives, player shuffling, or zombie invasions. Other listed activities include King of the Ladder, Capture the Flag, Survival Games, and additional competitive minigames.
Coins connect several parts of the server. Players can earn them through normal activities and skill progression, then spend them on larger claims, market stalls, and other services. Player trading, chest shops, auctions, and the wider market give builders, miners, collectors, and event players ways to exchange resources and custom items.
Regular events are generally scheduled for weekends, with some lasting a full week. Cavetale also runs larger build events and seasonal activities such as Easter hunts, Maypole challenges, Halloween builds, Advent content, Christmas builds, and other themed competitions. Players can earn titles, trophies, items, and recognition through participation and high scores.
Cavetale is built around cooperative survival, shared builds, player markets, and recurring events rather than constant faction warfare. Players can use the official Discord for updates and discussion, while the server's feedback channels have influenced ongoing features and balance changes. Large build events give the community a reason to work on shared creations beyond individual bases.
Players must accept the rules before starting. The main restrictions prohibit griefing, stealing, harassment, bigotry, offensive skins, builds or names, unfair client modifications, bots, exploits, excessive server lag, and alt-account abuse. Staff instructions also apply in chat and during events.
Joining and progressing on Cavetale does not require a purchase. The official store sells optional titles, shines, wardrobe items, mounts, chat features, and other cosmetic or convenience-focused extras. Store information states that purchases are not required for goals or ranking and are not intended to provide a significant gameplay advantage.
A talent tree lets players choose and develop branching upgrades or abilities that shape their character's long-term progression.
Mining, Combat, and Archery activities award Talent Points for separate trees, allowing players to unlock perks tied to each skill.
A dedicated resource world concentrates mining and exploration in a separate environment that may offer special terrain, ores, or additional content.
Cavetale's separate Mining World refreshes about weekly and includes rotating biomes, extra ores, caves, dungeons, treasure, and linked Nether access.
Mytems are named custom Minecraft items that provide specialized equipment, utilities, collectibles, or abilities beyond standard item behavior.
Cavetale offers more than 100 Mytems, including upgraded tools, special weapons, movement items, furniture, photos, and utility objects.
A dedicated bounded area intended for organized or voluntary player-versus-player combat.
Cavetale's PvP Arena offers selectable kits and changing rules such as lethal arrows, extra lives, player shuffling, and zombie invasions.
Claim expansion increases the protected area controlled by a player or group, usually through a resource, currency, or progression requirement.
Players receive a 128-by-128 starter claim and can spend Coins to expand protected territory around homes, farms, and shared builds.
Chest shops let players create self-service storefronts where stored items are exchanged with other players under posted prices or trade rules.
Cavetale supports player trading through chest shops, market stalls, and Coins, giving builders, miners, and collectors ways to exchange goods.
A persistent build world preserves player homes, farms, towns, and shared construction as an ongoing environment for long-term projects.
Cavetale's Build World is the stable home for long-term bases, farms, towns, and shared builds, unlike its resetting Mining World.
Build competitions are organized contests where players create structures or scenes and are compared through judging, voting, or achievement criteria.
Cavetale runs large build events and themed competitions where players can earn titles, trophies, items, and recognition through participation or scores.
Claim permissions let land owners configure who may build, break blocks, interact, or use protected areas.
Cavetale lets claim owners invite friends, open selected areas, and manage trust permissions for private or shared construction.
Seasonal events are time-limited activities that introduce special objectives, rewards, encounters, or progression during recurring or themed periods.
Cavetale runs Easter, Maypole, Halloween, Advent, Christmas, and other seasonal activities alongside its regular weekend events.
NPC quests present tracked objectives through character interactions, dialogue, and task chains that guide players through a world or progression.
Cavetale's newer NPC quest systems add dialogue-based objectives beyond the beginner initiation quests that introduce its features.
Specialized tools can be improved over time to increase effectiveness in resource gathering or other server activities.
Cavetale includes upgradeable tools within its custom item system, giving gathering equipment a progression path beyond ordinary crafting.
WorldEdit-style tools accelerate large-scale Minecraft construction through selection, transformation, copying, and bulk editing operations.
Cavetale's Creative world supports WorldEdit for large builds and for creating maps used by its minigames.

History of Cavetale
Cavetale began as Winthier in January 2012. The early server focused on close-to-vanilla survival with a small set of helpful plugins, player markets, auctions, and a long-lived community. In 2013, hkenneth stepped away and StarTux took over the server's operation, preserving the existing community while expanding its custom systems.
During the following years, Winthier added new survival worlds, custom plugins, minigames, events, and a skills system. Season 4 launched with a new name, Cavetale, alongside a fresh survival world and a broader focus on custom gameplay. That transition also led to revisions of the claims and home systems after the initial rules proved too restrictive for some players.
In June 2022, Cavetale announced Season 5 as another fresh start with a new world, empty inventories, and a chance to experience its accumulated systems from the beginning. Development continued through 2025 and 2026 with new custom items, furniture, quests, minigames, seasonal events, and further upgrades to the survival experience.
