About CastiaMC
CastiaMC is a Java survival world built around Towny. Start with a job, gather resources, earn money, and settle alone or with a town. Towns claim land, manage residents, and protect builds from griefing.
What Makes It Different
CastiaMC puts town building, jobs, skills, quests, player trade, and custom loot in one survival world. You can spend your time as a builder, trader, explorer, grinder, or town leader without changing servers.
Towny is a settlement system where players found towns, claim land, and control how residents use it.
Town creation, land claims, residents, upkeep, and town permissions form the central structure.
PvE is Minecraft gameplay centered on surviving and overcoming enemies and hazards controlled by the game rather than by other players.
The server is PvE-focused, with hostile mobs, relic drops, quests, and boss events.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
Relics, runestones, custom fish, pets, furniture, and other custom items materially change progression.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
The server is fundamentally an enhanced survival experience.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The server centers on a shared multiplayer survival world rather than isolated matches.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Jobs, player shops, auctions, town upkeep, ranks, and trading are major systems.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
Town claims protect builds and control permissions.
Choose a profession such as mining, farming, hunting, fishing, smelting, or woodcutting. These activities earn money and skill experience while you play normally. Use `/wild` or `/rtp` to find a place to begin, then join an existing town or create one when you have enough money.
Progression combines skill levels, daily quests, and an in-game rank ladder. Ranks unlock useful commands and perks, including town creation, chest shops, player warps, extra homes, storage, and auction access. Daily quests provide Quest Crystals and additional rewards.
CastiaMC adds hundreds of custom items, including relics, runestones, custom fish, hats, furniture, pets, and special utility items. Relics range from Common to Mithril and can drop from hostile mobs or be obtained through essences. Runestones add custom enchantments with different effects and success rates. An optional resource pack provides custom textures.
The server has three main worlds for building: the Overworld, Nether, and End. The Overworld uses custom world generation and measures 50,000 by 50,000 blocks. Smaller Resource World and Resource Nether dimensions are intended for mining and reset when needed, so they are not suitable for permanent bases.
Town claims default to PvP-off, giving residents a safe place to build. Combat is available in arena plots and wilderness areas, and town settings can change PvP for a settlement. Players are not forced into combat inside protected areas.
The economy is mainly player-driven. Jobs create starting income, while towns need money for upkeep and expansion. Players trade through chest shops, player warps, the spawn market, auctions, and direct payments.
Daily quests, weekly community challenges, boss invasions, holiday events, scavenger hunts, and shared server goals add activities beyond normal survival. Seasonal events have included Halloween boss fights, pumpkin hunts, Christmas present hunts, Easter cosmetics, and an Earth Day ocean cleanup.
CastiaMC uses English for general chat and maintains an active Discord for recruitment, help, announcements, and town coordination. The server is designed around cooperation between residents, mayors, traders, builders, and town groups.
Respectful chat, no harassment, advertising, impersonation, or personal-information sharing. Hacking, X-ray, autoclickers, macros, autofishing, duping, and exploit abuse are prohibited. Griefing and theft are forbidden inside town boundaries. Redstone, mob farms, alt accounts, and weekly challenges have additional limits.
The store sells cosmetics as well as ranks, gemstones, money and experience bombs, and Manticore gear. Some purchases provide gameplay effects or progression boosts, while many normal activities and rewards remain obtainable in-game.

History of CastiaMC
CastiaMC began in 2016 as a Towny survival project centered on building settlements, earning money, and playing together. From the beginning, towns and player cooperation formed the core of its identity. The server is associated with Oxywire, with SirKillian connected to both CastiaMC and the organization.
By May 2017, CastiaMC had developed into a broader Towny survival experience. Its player-run economy was supported by McMMO, jobs, quests, MythicDrops, custom plugins, PvE content, and voting rewards. These systems gave players several ways to progress while keeping settlement building and trade at the center.
During the 2020–2021 era, the server used the CastiaMC branding, although some connection and page aliases still retained the StickyMC name. This period preserved the server’s established survival foundation while its public identity continued to settle around CastiaMC.
Quests became a more deliberate part of progression in February 2022. They were overhauled in July of that year, then redesigned again in November 2023 as daily quests. Each change shifted quests toward a more regular role in everyday survival play.
Runestones were added on September 6, 2024. Further additions and balance changes followed through 2025, expanding another layer of progression alongside the server’s established economy and survival systems.
The September 6, 2025 season brought a fresh economy and progression reset. It also introduced pets, proximity voice chat, and other gameplay changes, marking a significant new phase for the server while retaining its Towny survival foundation.
On December 10, 2025, the Fishing Update added custom fish. Players could sell their catches for Tokens or exchange them for rewards such as Runestones and Mithril Cores, giving fishing a larger place in the wider progression system.
On March 14, 2026, the Magecraft community merged into CastiaMC without changing CastiaMC’s server gameplay. The server continues to combine enhanced survival with custom world generation, recurring weekly challenges, seasonal events, boss invasions, holiday hunts, and community goals. Its current identity remains rooted in towns, player trade, and a shared survival world, supported by a dedicated interactive map at map.castiamc.com.
CastiaMC FAQ
Are villagers enabled on CastiaMC?
No. Villagers are disabled, so normal villager trading and traditional iron farms do not work. Mending can instead come from fishing, dungeon loot, or other server rewards.
Can I build in the Resource World?
You can, but it is not safe for permanent bases or valuables because the Resource World and Resource Nether reset when needed.
Do custom relics work like normal enchanted items?
Relics act like special tools and armor, but they cannot be renamed, disenchanted, or upgraded with extra anvil enchantments. Runestones and utility items can still modify them.
