About Black Banner SMP
Leave spawn fast, take a highway into the Nether, and hide your base before someone else finds it. Black Banner SMP is a persistent anarchy survival server with no land claims, no protection, and no world resets. Java and Bedrock players share the same world, spawn, enemies, roads, and dangers, so survival depends on distance, secrecy, preparation, and knowing when not to trust another player.
What Makes It Different
Black Banner combines a no-reset anarchy world with a duel system that makes normal matches part of survival rather than a detached minigame. Losing a standard duel kills you, drops your items, and sends you back to spawn, while Practice mode preserves your inventory and offers sword, mace, crystal, and mixed kits.
Anarchy is a Minecraft server style where players operate under very few enforced rules, leaving survival and conflict largely in player hands.
The server explicitly removes claims, protection, staff intervention, and ordinary restrictions, making unrestricted player conflict central to survival.
Duels are self-contained Minecraft PvP matches where two players or small opposing teams fight under defined rules until one side wins.
The server offers direct challenges, queues, lethal matches, Practice mode, kits, wagers, Elo-style statistics, and leaderboards.
Raiding is attacking another player’s base to breach its defenses, reach its valuables, and weaken or destroy its ability to operate.
Base hunting, theft, griefing, betrayal, and attacks on player stashes are explicitly intended activities.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The shared world is designed to continue without wipes, seasons, or soft resets, preserving player-built changes and destruction.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Spawn fights, highway ambushes, raids, base defense, and the integrated duel system make player combat a constant part of play.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
Players share an ongoing survival world where they gather resources, build hidden bases, travel, and develop self-directed progression.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Players follow ordinary resource gathering, crafting, exploration, gear improvement, and base-building progression under hostile-world pressure.
The server leaves ordinary survival progression in place but removes the safety nets found on most SMPs. Spawn is trapped and heavily camped, highways contain ambushes and obstructions, and the guide recommends traveling thousands of blocks before building. Griefing, stealing, betrayal, spawn-killing, base hunting, and raiding are all part of the intended experience.
Progression is self-directed rather than rank-based. Players gather resources, travel away from spawn, hide a base, build backup stashes, and improve their gear while trying to keep their supplies from being discovered. Server standings track activity such as blocks broken, blocks placed, distance traveled, and monsters defeated, giving long-term players another way to build a reputation.
The main server-specific systems are the duel network, Practice kits, item wagers, combat tagging, Elo and streak tracking, player profiles, and activity standings. Flight and speed are rubber-banded rather than treated as ordinary punishable cheats, while many other hacked-client features and exploits are explicitly tolerated.
Java and Bedrock players occupy one shared survival world with the same spawn and hostile environment. Overworld roads and Nether highways radiate from 0,0, with the Nether providing faster long-distance travel at the usual eight-to-one coordinate ratio. The world is intended to persist without wipes or seasonal resets, so destroyed bases, altered routes, and hidden builds can remain part of its history.
PvP is always relevant, from spawn fights and highway ambushes to raids and base defense. The `/dual` system supports direct challenges, automatic queues, lethal standard duels, safe Practice matches, item wagers, custom kits, Elo-style statistics, and leaderboards. A normal duel is an actual death, so combatants risk their equipment and return to spawn when they lose.
The Discord is the main place for organizing alliances, rivalries, raids, and other player activity. The server also maintains public standings and player profiles, while its content page highlights creators documenting wars, raids, betrayals, and server events.
Gameplay is intentionally unmoderated. There are no land claims or protection systems, and players are not given ordinary staff intervention for griefing, theft, traps, spawn-killing, or other conflicts. Hacked clients and most exploits are allowed, while flight and speed are pushed back through rubber-banding instead of bans or kicks.
No pay-to-win system is advertised, and no separate store is presented as part of the server's public site.
A duel format where losing a match has meaningful survival consequences instead of merely resetting participants to an arena lobby.
A standard duel counts as an actual death: the loser drops items and returns to spawn, making direct challenges part of survival risk.
A no-claims survival world leaves players responsible for choosing locations, hiding valuables, and defending their own builds.
Black Banner provides no land claims or ordinary protection, leaving bases, stashes, roads, and builds exposed to other players.
A repeatable duel mode designed for testing combat skills with reduced consequences compared with ordinary survival or ranked matches.
Practice preserves the player's inventory and offers dedicated sword, mace, crystal, and mixed combat kits for safer repeated testing.
Hacked clients allowed means modified clients that provide gameplay-affecting advantages are permitted under the server's rules.
Black Banner explicitly tolerates hacked clients and most exploits, while flight and speed are countered through rubber-banding instead of bans.
ELO ratings measure competitive performance by adjusting a player's rating according to results against other players.
Duels record Elo-style statistics and expose competitive performance through the server's duel rankings and player profiles.
A competitive match mechanic where participants stake in-game items on the outcome of a player-versus-player contest.
The duel system supports item wagers, adding tangible stakes beyond the normal outcome of winning or losing a match.
Public player statistics that compare cumulative accomplishments or tracked activity across a shared server world.
Black Banner tracks blocks broken, blocks placed, distance traveled, and monsters defeated through public standings and player profiles.
Player-versus-player loadouts that define the equipment or combat rules used for a particular duel format.
Players can use custom kits alongside sword, mace, crystal, and mixed Practice options in the server's duel network.
Public rankings that compare players according to results or performance in a recurring competitive game mode.
The server publishes duel leaderboards alongside queues, challenges, and Elo-style statistics for ongoing combat competition.
Nether highways use organized routes through the Nether to connect distant overworld destinations more efficiently.
Highways radiate from 0,0, and players are encouraged to use the Nether's standard eight-to-one coordinate relationship for rapid travel.
