About Tweakcraft
Last updated
Tweakcraft feels like the survival world you know, with a few kind tweaks. Fire does not spread, endermen leave your blocks alone, pets follow you when you teleport and ores stay hidden from x-ray. You find land with a random teleport, claim it with a wooden shovel and start building. Everything in the game and chat is in Dutch, and Java and Bedrock players play together.
The server has its own money, Ruby, which you earn by selling to the server, at the auction house or from a chest shop. Shards come from missions and the Codex and buy extra homes, claim blocks and keys. Volunteers run it, and there is no shop and no paid ranks.
What Makes It Different
Tweakcraft started on the Tweakers.net forum in 2010, and its original world with builds like Paradise Park and Big Ben is still there to visit from spawn.
Farms, redstone and mobs work like singleplayer, with only small changes.
Thirteen event games, with one opening every half hour.
Ruby money with an auction house, chest shops and buy orders.
Near-vanilla survival on one shared world with land claims.
PvP outside claims, kit duels, bounties and an arena behind the End portal at spawn.
Survival is close to the normal game: farms, redstone and mobs work as in singleplayer. Extras are trading, clans, PvP and event games on top.
Shards come from six starter missions, the Codex, chat quizzes and time at spawn. The Codex levels up as you mine, harvest, chop trees and fight, and finishing it gives you a [Codex] title. The biggest shard goal is a 3x3 pickaxe.
The world, Nether and End have borders, and creepers and TNT cannot damage blocks inside claims. A chest at spawn takes Java players to the old world from the early years.
PvP is on outside claims and spawn, and you lose your gear when you die. Duels give both players the same Sword, Club or Bow kit, and you can put a bounty on someone's head.
Ruby is the server money. Check what an item is worth with /waarde, sell to the server, list items at the auction house, open a chest shop in your claim or set a buy order.
Every 30 minutes an event game opens, from Sumo, BlockParty and TNTRun to Capture the Flag, Musical Chairs and Last Man Standing. Winners get shards, a rare key and Ruby.
No cheats, x-ray, griefing or stealing, even on unclaimed land. Helpful mods like minimaps, Sodium and Simple Voice Chat are fine, while freecam, autoclickers and seed finders are not.
Free to play. There is no store and nothing to buy with real money.
Use /ah to list items for Ruby or buy what other players are selling.
The Codex levels up as you mine, harvest, chop and fight, paying shards at every level.
Set up a chest shop in your claim or place a buy order at your own price with /order.
Claim land by clicking two corners with a wooden shovel, and only trusted players can build there.
Put a Ruby reward on another player's head with /bounty for anyone who takes them down.
Tweakcraft has no store and no paid ranks, and everything is earned in game.
Three chests at spawn hold common, rare and cosmetic loot, with one key a day from /reward.
An event game opens every 30 minutes, from Sumo and TNTRun to Musical Chairs and Red Light, Green Light.
Duels hand both players the same Sword, Club or Bow kit, and the End portal at spawn leads to a fighting arena.
Java players can talk in game with the optional Simple Voice Chat mod.

History of Tweakcraft
Tweakcraft began in autumn 2010 on the Tweakers.net forum, back when Minecraft was still in alpha. A forum member set up a server, it hit its data limit within a week, and another member took it over. By December 2010 the players had their own Steam group.
Over the next years players pooled money for their own machine and upgraded it several times, and thousands of people came through. Later a small group kept playing on a modpack.
Now the volunteers have opened Tweakcraft to the public again with a new survival world. The old world, with Paradise Park, Big Ben and whole cities, is kept and can still be visited.
