About TorchCraft
TorchCraft centers on three durable ways to play: build and trade in a long-running Survival world, grow a resource-starved SkyBlock island, or use Creative plots for unrestricted building. Temporary events and seasonal activities add variety, while Survival’s no-reset policy gives established projects unusual staying power.
What Makes It Different
TorchCraft’s clearest difference is the age and continuity of its Survival world. Player projects are not routinely wiped for a new season, so builds, claims, roads, shops, and infrastructure can remain part of the same shared world for years.
Creative is a Minecraft building mode where players construct and test structures with unrestricted access to building materials instead of gathering them through survival play.
Dedicated plot-based Creative mode with unrestricted building tools.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
Survival is maintained without routine resets and has existed since 2012.
mcMMO is a Minecraft server skill system that grants experience for activities such as mining, chopping trees, fishing, and fighting.
SkyBlock provides McMMO skills, levels, abilities, and related progression.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Long-running primary Survival world with building, gathering, claims, economy, and exploration.
Skyblock is a Minecraft mode where players develop a floating island while gathering and multiplying scarce resources above the void.
Permanent SkyBlock mode built around island growth, challenges, farms, and island levels.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Coins, shops, auction-house trading, admin shops, and resource selling are important parts of Survival and SkyBlock.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
Players protect Survival land with claims and assign permissions through trust commands.
Survival focuses on gathering, crafting, building, farming, exploring, and selling resources for coins. Players can protect land with claims, cooperate through trust permissions, use shops and the auction house, and follow a live map of the Survival worlds. SkyBlock starts players on a small island and adds challenges, farms, generators, dungeons, shops, and island teamwork. Creative gives each player a plot with flight, unrestricted blocks, WorldEdit, and an Armor Stand Editor. Event and Theater modes appear during selected weekends, holidays, and special occasions.
Survival progression is largely self-directed, with better equipment, larger builds, farms, shops, claims, and accumulated wealth providing long-term goals. SkyBlock has a clearer progression ladder: challenges unlock new admin-shop tiers, island levels rise with the blocks placed on an island, and farms, generators, mobcoins, McMMO skills, dungeons, and quests provide additional routes forward. Creative is project-driven rather than rank-driven.
TorchCraft adds server-side systems including McMMO skills, SkyBlock challenges, Dungeons, QuestEiland, island levels, mobcoins, custom generators, hopper upgrades, chest shops, claims, custom commands, seasonal crates, cosmetics, and building tools. Creative also includes WorldEdit and an Armor Stand Editor.
Survival is built around a persistent world with multiple mapped areas and occasional expansions instead of routine resets. The live map can show players, warps, claims, and separate Survival map sections. SkyBlock replaces ordinary terrain with individual floating islands, while Creative uses separate player plots. The former Hardcore world used a bounded vanilla map and is now closed.
Coins are used throughout Survival for buying and selling resources, player shops, auction-house listings, and other services. SkyBlock adds an admin shop, chest shops, mobcoins earned from defeated mobs, rotating mobcoin-shop items, and coinflip gambling. Minimum prices and mode-specific trading rules limit some forms of price manipulation and scamming.
Events include seasonal activities, temporary challenges, Spleef, mazes, fireworks shows, build competitions, Discord activities, special hunts, and occasional changes to Survival and SkyBlock. Event and Theater modes are opened for selected occasions rather than remaining permanently available.
The server is organized around a Dutch-speaking in-game community and Discord server. Discord is used for announcements, player chat, giveaways, account linking, and support tickets. The staff structure includes admins, moderators, helpers, and developers, with separate responsibilities for moderation, player assistance, development, and content.
Chat and conduct rules prohibit spam, harassment, discrimination, server advertising, account sharing or punishment evasion, advantageous cheats and modifications, bug abuse, illegal items, lag machines, and several forms of trapping or scamming. Survival and SkyBlock add limits for spawners, hoppers, armor stands, AFK systems, shops, gambling, and automation. The server requires Dutch communication in public chat.
The optional store sells permanent VIP ranks, items, kits, pets, cosmetics, claim blocks, supporter ranks, and other extras for Survival, SkyBlock, Creative, and the lobby. Payments are available through iDeal, Bancontact, and PayPal. Purchases support server maintenance and improvements, and basic access to the server remains free with a legal Minecraft account.

History of TorchCraft
TorchCraft began in January 2012 as a small Minecraft server named mFok, starting with 24 slots before growing further. In November 2012, it was renamed TorchCraft and expanded with new game modes, more player capacity, and additional plugins.
The server continued building around persistent Survival, SkyBlock progression, Creative building, and community events. Survival remained active without a full reset, while the network added systems such as claims, live maps, McMMO, challenges, dungeons, quests, shops, and custom server plugins.
From December 20, 2025 through May 3, 2026, TorchCraft ran a temporary Hardcore world with three lives per player. The mode added a limited world border, restricted teleportation, claim protection, events, later PvP, and a spectator state for players who lost all their lives.
