About Silver Springs Survival
Last updated
Silver Springs Survival keeps the feel of vanilla on hard mode, then hides a lot under the surface. You gather in pregenerated survival worlds, mine in resource worlds that reset every two weeks, and build freely in a separate creative world.
The deeper game is Runecrafting: runes drop from mobs like witches, strays and shulkers, and you combine them at the Arcanum for more than 100 custom enchantments. The Trials of Valor arenas pay out Valor Badges for relics and artifacts. It is a Java server with English chat, and new players become Members after about 20 hours of good play.
What Makes It Different
Runecrafting turns mob hunting into a puzzle: every recipe takes five runes, a wrong guess gives a cursed book, and the first player to find each recipe is recorded in a server-wide Lexicon.
A small long-running community sharing the same survival worlds without land claims.
Hard mode survival in pregenerated worlds with resource worlds that reset every two weeks.
Silver money, a server shop, village vendors, a player marketplace and item auctions.
Survival runs on hard mode in pregenerated worlds, with no Towny or land claims, so you build where you like while giving others space. Chests can be locked with Bolt, and builders get tools like a wrench, block chisel and armor stand posing.
Late-game content is opt-in. Runes and gems power up your gear, Trials of Valor reward Valor Badges and Trial Points, and Heirlooms let you carry up to three registered items into the next map.
Runecrafting adds over 100 enchantments plus Runic Tome spells, and gem socketing adds stat gems like Agility and Vigor. The Valor Shop sells artifacts such as the Infinite Bucket, Mob Scarecrow and Quickfuse Dynamite.
Silver is the main money, spent at the Server Shop and village vendors. Players also trade through a player marketplace and a custom item auction system.
Rush Weekends run every weekend, a Blood Moon rises in survival and resource worlds on each full moon, and staff judge build contests. PvP tournaments and bring-your-own-gear fights are held from time to time.
Griefing is taken seriously even without claims, and players are expected to respect each other. The full rules are shown in game with /rules.
A live server map on the official website shows the worlds and what players have built.
Runecrafting combines five mob-dropped runes at the Arcanum into more than 100 ancient enchantments.
Survival runs on hard mode, so mobs hit harder and you can starve all the way down.
The Valor Shop trades badges for artifacts like the Infinite Bucket, Mob Scarecrow and Quickfuse Dynamite.
mcMMO skills level up as you play, with XP boosts and Alchemy potion unlocks along the way.
Biome-themed resource worlds like ResCold and ResForest reset every other week so the main worlds stay intact.
Bolt locks your chests automatically, and you can share access with friends, groups or a password.
Staff judge build contests, and entries can be built in any of the survival worlds.
The Trials of Valor arenas, such as the Crypt, Cultist Raid and Ruined Pantheon, give you class kits and waves to beat for Valor Badges.

History of Silver Springs Survival
Silver Springs Survival was already running in 2012: two of today's staff found it that year, one of them on Christmas Day 2012. In January 2015 a new owner took over, and several long-time players joined the staff that same year.
The team kept growing, with new moderators added in April 2020 and fresh roles in September 2023. In June 2025 the first PvP tournament crowned a winner.
The server keeps up with Minecraft too, moving to 1.21.7 in July 2025 and to 26.3 in October 2026, the same month the Spooky Springs Halloween build area opened.
