Spear SMP was running by June 3, 2026 as an economy-focused survival server. Its early format gave players a spear and mace immediately instead of treating combat as a separate endgame activity.

By late August 2026, a second season had been scheduled for September 6, 2026 at 3:00 PM MST. The planned season expanded the weapon-focused format with a 3x3 pickaxe, crate tiers, economy rewards, spawners, an AFK zone, voice chat, and a kill-based Spearhead currency.
The planned second season also made the End a timed progression feature, with access scheduled to open three days after launch. Spear SMP now presents itself as a combat-led economy SMP built around unusual weapons, money-making, and player-versus-player competition.
