About Purple Prison
Purple Prison puts you in a prison-themed world where mining earns money, money unlocks new ranks, and each new area gives you more ways to play. You can mine public pits, sell blocks, build on a personal plot, trade with other players, and chase prestige ranks.
What Makes It Different
Purple Prison combines a focused prison grind with a busy player market and optional PvP. You can spend your time mining and building, or risk your earnings in battles and wagering games.
Prison servers turn mining into a gated progression ladder: players break blocks in designated mines, sell the resources, and spend their earnings on ranks that unlock more valuable areas.
The entire server is built around prison-themed mining and rank progression.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Dedicated PvP areas, KOTH, PvP mines, duels, and combat events are major parts of play.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Mining income, player shops, auctions, trading, wagering games, money, and tokens shape progression.
Start with a kit, visit a mine, break blocks, and sell what you collect. Use `/rankup` when you have enough money. Warps lead to mines, plots, PvP areas, events, parkour, droppers, and mazes.
Progress begins with prison ranks and continues through prestige levels. The 2023 reset expanded the system to 100 prestige ranks. Pickaxe enchants, upgraded tools, achievements, daily rewards, and gang levels add extra goals.
Custom content includes pickaxe enchantments, Omega Axes, rank swords, tool upgrades, walking trails, death sounds, death effects, tags, achievements, tracked items, crate rewards, and player statistics.
The main experience is a prison world made from ranked mines, warps, event areas, PvP zones, and a separate plot world. Mines automatically reset as they are emptied. The 2023 reset refreshed the central spawn, maps, mines, and plot system.
PvP is optional overall, with dedicated arenas, PvP mines, KOTH events, duels, and other combat activities. New players receive PvP protection, and combat logging and loot protection systems are available. Outside protected areas, carrying valuable gear into combat remains risky.
Mining is the main source of prison income. Players can sell blocks, open shops on their plots, trade through the auction house, pay one another, and wager money or tokens in coinflip and crash-style games.
Scheduled activities include KOTH, supply drops, PvP mines, sumo free-for-all, parkour, dropper, and maze events. Seasonal warps, crates, tags, and limited-time rewards appear throughout the year.
The Purple Prison Discord is the main social and support hub. Players also meet through gangs, gang allies, plot shops, auctions, duels, giveaways, and public events.
Hacked clients, macros, automated scripts, exploits, duping, ban evasion, unsafe links, hate speech, harassment, impersonation, and real-money trades between players are prohibited. In-game scamming is allowed in some situations, but plot-shop scams and real-money deals are not.
Joining and playing are free. The web store sells in-game packages, crates, and other server items. Players can also earn money, tokens, vote rewards, daily rewards, and event prizes through gameplay.

History of Purple Prison
Purple Prison was released in August 2014 as a Java Minecraft prison server. From the beginning, its identity was built around mining, rank progression, prison-themed areas, plots, and player trading. These systems gave players a structured path through the prison while leaving room for personal spaces and economic activity.
As the server developed, its progression became more specialized. Custom pickaxe enchantments, rank sword upgrades, Omega Axes, effects, achievements, tags, tracked items, daily rewards, and player statistics expanded the ways players could advance and distinguish themselves. The prison experience grew beyond mining alone, connecting progression with collection, combat, and long-term goals.
Its multiplayer economy and competitive systems also became central to the server’s identity. Players could trade, take part in PvP, and engage with black-market activity while moving through mines and ranks. Recurring activities such as KOTH, supply drops, PvP mines, and sumo free-for-alls added contests beyond ordinary prison progression.
The server periodically broadened its gameplay with temporary and seasonal content. Parkour, dropper, maze maps, seasonal warps, tags, and crates gave players alternate activities and rotating rewards. Voting, daily rewards, and events complemented normal gameplay, while the free-to-join server maintained an official store for in-game packages and crates.
A major transition arrived with the server reset scheduled for October 17, 2020. The reset brought a refreshed prison release and expanded custom features, marking a substantial renewal of the core experience rather than a simple continuation of the existing world.
In November 2021, Purple Prison launched a new general-purpose website. It gathered play instructions, support, appeals, applications, suggestions, and store access into a broader hub for the server community. In 2022, seasonal crate content continued to evolve, alongside the addition of cryptocurrency-based store credit.
The 2023 reset became another major gameplay milestone. It introduced refreshed worlds and maps, a redesigned spawn, larger plots, and 100 prestige ranks. The economy and crates were rebalanced, while new enchantments, achievements, daily rewards, gang levels, and event maps expanded both individual and group progression.
Purple Prison continued that seasonal approach into 2026 with a spring crate cycle and an Easter warp activity involving stealable carrot rewards. Today, it remains a prison server shaped by mining and rank progression, but its identity also includes custom progression systems, player trading, PvP, gangs, events, seasonal content, and a persistent in-game economy.
