About Loka
Loka is a survival world built around towns, territory and player politics. Start with friends, claim land, gather resources and grow your town into a real power. Towns protect their homes, unlock perks and compete for control of valuable regions.
What Makes It Different
Loka turns survival into a struggle between player-run towns. Winning territory does more than expand your base: it can give your town control of resources, political influence and the power to shape the wider world.
Geopolitical servers organize Minecraft play around player-run states that claim territory, manage borders, and compete or cooperate for influence.
Player towns compete over borders, resources, capitals and world policies through an organized territorial power structure.

Power Shards, town upkeep, resource exchange and a player-run market are important progression systems.
Custom Items are server-created weapons, tools, armor, or usable objects with abilities or properties beyond Minecraft’s standard items.
Server-created items, brewing, loot, collectibles and other custom content substantially extend ordinary Minecraft progression.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
Custom continents, towns, ruins, lore and political history create a continuing world rather than short reset-based matches.
Begin as a nomad, travel by ship to one of the main continents and explore the wilds. Gather ores, find ruins, visit resource islands and look for a town to join. You can also start a town with friends by claiming a territory generator.
Town progression is tied to play. Activities help raise town levels and unlock perks, ranks, zones and industries. Town masteries can lead to industry buildings that produce useful resources. Personal achievements, titles, collectibles and custom items add longer-term goals.
Custom systems include territory conquest, town industries, brewing, religions, custom items, lore scrolls, collectibles, decorative blocks, shrines, loot bundles, beheading, trails, void storage, achievements and stat tracking. Optional Loka resource packs add textures and sounds, but they are not required to play.
Loka uses a hand-built world with three main continents: Ascalon, Garama and Kalros. Each has different terrain, biomes and resources. Additional landmasses, resource islands, ruins and Nether locations give players more places to explore and fight over.
PvP is central to Loka, but it is not active everywhere in the same way. Conquest battles take place in keep-on-death zones, so players keep their items when they die during those fights. Wilderness and resource-island travel can still be dangerous, while town protection focuses on blocks rather than making residents immune to attack.
Power Shards are Loka's main physical currency. Ores can be exchanged for Shards, which help pay town upkeep and buy goods. The player-run market supports listings and buy orders, letting players trade resources without relying on a single shop.
Fishing tournaments run on a repeating schedule. Conquest cycles end monthly, followed by a truce period. Other recurring systems include town upkeep, industry processing, dock deliveries, resource-island resets and server restarts. Recent additions include the Witch Hunter world boss and daily Zyre Domination capture battles.
Towns receive private text and voice channels connected to Loka's Discord. Players can join existing towns, form alliances and take part in elections for Community Representatives. The community also maintains active forums for news, suggestions, lore, applications, events and ban disputes.
Griefing, TNT cannons, offensive behavior, harassment, repeated spawn killing, unauthorized client-side mods, alt accounts and account sharing are prohibited. OptiFine and Schematica are the listed allowed client-side mods. Town owners retain ownership of town property, so choose trusted teammates.
Loka has an official web store offering Orbs and subscriber options. The server is free to join, while store purchases provide optional paid products and subscriptions.

History of Loka
Loka began on February 16, 2011, under the name The Artifact. Its early worlds were shaped by player towns, survival, trade and generators that let communities establish their own territories. Shared lore grew alongside these practical systems, giving the server an identity beyond ordinary survival play.
As the community and world systems expanded, The Artifact adopted the name Loka. Town creation became a central part of play: players could gather with friends, claim a territory generator and complete the process of founding a town. This kept settlement and cooperation at the heart of the server’s development.
In 2014, Loka launched the Territories system. Over time, that system developed into the modern Conquest experience, turning control of territory into a larger, recurring part of the server’s gameplay. The world’s political and competitive structure grew from the earlier town-focused foundation.
The fifth world, known as Char, marked another major transition. It introduced custom terrain and three continents, which became the foundation of Loka’s current world. This gave later exploration, settlement and conflict a more distinct setting.
Loka’s identity continued to expand through custom systems layered onto its world. Brewing, religions, custom items, ruins, shrines, collectibles, decorative blocks, lore scrolls, fishing and achievements added ways for players to engage with the server beyond building towns or competing for territory.
Conquest also developed a regular rhythm. Cycles end on the last Sunday of each month, followed by a 72-hour truce. Fishing tournaments take place every three days, adding a separate recurring activity to the server’s ongoing competition and exploration.
In its fifteenth-anniversary update in 2026, Loka rebuilt the docks of Kalros, Ascalon and Garama. The update also expanded fishing with new rewards, vendors and tournaments, continuing the server’s pattern of revisiting established places while adding new activities.
Today, Loka is the continuation of a server that began as The Artifact: a persistent world built around towns, custom systems, shared lore, exploration and territory-based conflict. Its current identity combines the social foundations of its earliest worlds with the Conquest systems and custom content developed across its history.
