Akvarium228 is anarchy in a tight box. There are no land claims, no wipes and almost no rules, so anything you build can be found, looted or blown up. The world border started at just 228 blocks from spawn and grows on the 15th of every month, so fresh land keeps opening up.
The server is in Russian and made for Java Edition. You start at the bottom rank and climb by earning achievements and playtime: diamond gear, then enchanting, then the End, then netherite. There is no teleport and no /sethome, so you walk and sleep in a bed. Donations buy nothing in game.
What Makes It Different
The world border grows by a set amount every month and never shrinks, so the map stays small and crowded instead of empty.
No claims, no wipes and no rules except bans on lag machines and speed hacks.
There are no claims, so bases survive only if nobody finds them. There is no /tpa and no /sethome: you walk everywhere and set your spawn with a bed or respawn anchor.
The /rang command shows your rank and what you need for the next one. Ranks come from achievements and playtime: diamond gear and enchanting first, then the End and clans, then netherite, trading and a custom chat prefix after a week or a month of play.
Clans give only a tag, no bonuses. You can create one from the Old rank and join one from the Karasik rank, and the site keeps clan and player rankings plus a Hall of Fame.
Anything goes as long as it does not break the server. Lag machines and speed hacks are banned.
Donations give no perks. Ranks, items and progress can only be earned by playing.
The website auction lets players list items with a price and a deadline, and player heads are easy to browse and sell.
Nobody can claim land, so any base can be found and raided.
Donations unlock nothing, and ranks and resources come only from playing.
Clans give a 1 to 3 letter tag and are ranked against each other on the website.
The border started at 228 blocks from spawn and has grown by 1,000 blocks on the 15th of each month since January 2026.
Every rank from the bottom one up to Elephant comes from achievements and playtime, checked with /rang.
Map art made on the server can be shared and viewed on the website, added in October 2026.
The map has never been wiped, and the site says it never will be.
There is no /tpa and no /sethome, so you travel on foot and set your spawn with a bed.

History of Akvarium228
Akvarium228 grew out of Karasik, a server that opened on 4 April 2020. When Karasik first closed on 15 October 2025, some of its players launched Akvarium228 the same day on a YouTube stream, with a border of only 228 blocks in its honour.
From 15 January 2026 the border began growing by 1,000 blocks each month. Karasik came back in April 2026 but closed for good on 12 August 2026, and a week later its old addresses started pointing to Akvarium228.
In October 2026 the server moved to the 26.3 core and marked its first birthday on 15 October.
