House of Embers mixes Prison and Skyblock. You start on a floating island with a Cinder Mine and a Cinder Pickaxe, dig it out, sell the blocks for Chits and buy better mines and picks. The people of Cherry Haven, the hub town, hand out bounties that pay XP, and each level opens new mines, ponds, fields and Main Quests.
It runs on Java Edition in English. The server calls itself a beta that is still being built, so expect bugs, fixes and more features as it grows.
What Makes It Different
Mines, ponds and fields all sit on your own island, and a ten-stage statue of The Firekeeper slowly rises beside it as you feed it stone and fish.
You dig refilling mines, sell the blocks and trade up to richer mines and better picks.
You build up your own floating island and place your mines, ponds and fields on it.
Two currencies, Chits and Embers, plus selling to town traders and an Auction House.
You dig your mines, cast in your ponds and harvest your fields, then sell to Genki, Nami and Nene in town. Mines refill on a timer, and clearing one before it refills raises your chance of extra blocks. A Pit Drill keeps digging while you are away.
Bounties and Main Quests give XP and Embers. Levels unlock new places and gear, The Researcher sells permanent upgrades like extra mine slots and auto selling, and four trades level up with their own perks.
Chits come from selling blocks, fish and crops and pay for mines, pickaxes and drills. Embers come from bounties and quests and are spent at The Researcher. Dying costs 5% of your Chits.
You can team up with one friend as a duo for shared bounties and trades, join a guild, visit other islands and leave a paper crane on them.
You buy and sell items through the Auction House, and the Gavel upgrade lets you open it from anywhere on the server.
You place ponds on your island, use bait to fish them and chase rare catches, with an upgrade that makes bites come sooner.
Mining, fishing, farming and gathering each have their own trade level with perks you unlock as they rise.
Top players show on leaderboards in game and on the website, with public player profiles and journals you can look up.
Bounty givers around Cherry Haven hand out free bounties that pay XP, and the Bounty Ledger upgrade lets you hold more at once.
You place your own mines on your island, starting with the Cinder Mine, and buy up to 13 more kinds from The Prospector as you level.
There are nine pets to raise, and you send one out or away with a single command.
You can join a guild with its own chat, run through Haru at the Heart Ember in Cherry Haven.
Fields on your island grow crops that range from Common to Legendary, and you sell the harvest to Nene in town.
Chits from selling pay for mines and gear, while Embers from bounties and quests buy permanent upgrades from The Researcher.
