About EarthMC

EarthMC turns Minecraft survival into a shared political map. You settle a real-world region, join or create a town, claim land, and work with other players to build a nation.

Terra Nostra is the current world. It is much larger than earlier maps and combines player-run shops, gold-based trade, Towny protection, diplomacy, local conflicts, and years of community history. The map itself is part of the game: capitals become travel hubs, borders matter, and where you build can shape your town's future.

What Makes It Different

EarthMC makes geography matter. A town's real-world location affects its neighbors, trade routes, allies, and room to expand.

The world also lasts for years instead of wiping every few months. A capital, railway, shop district, or abandoned town can become part of the server's shared history.

EarthMC Gameplay

Start by joining an open town or accepting an invitation. Creating your own town costs 64 gold and begins with one chunk. Extra claims cost 16 gold each and must connect to land your town already owns.

Residents increase a town's claim limit. Towns can join nations, use ranks and permissions, sell plots, create shops, build public mines, and eventually unlock town warps. Town and nation leaders manage banks, taxes, allies, embargos, pacts, borders, and membership.

History of EarthMC

EarthMC began in 2016 as a Minecraft server built around a playable map of Earth. Its first era, now known as Classic, ran from 2016 to 2018 and established the town-and-nation format that still defines the server.

The first major reset created Terra Nova in 2018. Nova gave EarthMC a larger long-term world and became the setting for years of towns, nations, wars, trade routes, political blocs, and player-written history.

Terra Aurora arrived in 2022. It initially existed alongside Terra Nova, giving players access to a newer world while the older map remained part of the network. Terra Nova was eventually closed on July 25, 2024, then preserved as a downloadable archive.

During the Aurora era, EarthMC expanded beyond basic Towny commands. Quarters added apartment-sized areas with their own permissions, while newer systems improved claims, shops, teleporting, custom recipes, and nation management. Community-run news, tools, events, and map projects also became a lasting part of the server's culture.

In April 2025, EarthMC announced another reset for the following year. The plan was to create a larger map with updated terrain and keep the earlier worlds available instead of erasing their history.

Terra Nostra opened to Premium players on April 17, 2026, then opened publicly on May 1, 2026. Paris became its first town, and Japan became its first nation within the opening hours.

The current era uses a map four times larger than the previous one, with improved infrastructure designed for large numbers of players in one world. EarthMC now offers a fresh political frontier while keeping its long-running mix of towns, nations, commerce, travel, building, and player-made history.
