Cubeside is built around a social Survival server where building and trading matter as much as mining. You can settle in Freebuild, use plot areas, join server towns or player villages, and travel to separate resource and farm worlds.
When you want a break from survival, the network offers BedWars, Skyblock, Arcade, 1vs1, SkyWars, Cubebomber, Hide'n'Seek, GuessIt, Survival Games and Jump'n'Runs. Regular themed events add shared challenges, building contests and competitive weekends without taking the focus away from the main community world.
What Makes It Different
Cubeside combines a serious long-term building world with a full menu of minigames and community competitions. The same player economy connects survival projects, markets, collectibles and events.
Freebuild is a Minecraft building mode centered on creating structures and landscapes without a required combat, quest, or level-progression path.

Events are organized Minecraft activities that give players a distinct objective and rules for a particular occasion or limited period.
Recurring themed months, competitions, build events and community challenges are a durable feature.
Minigames are compact Minecraft games with their own rules, objective, and bounded play area, usually resolved in a single round.

The main loop is building, trading and improving shared projects in Freebuild, plots, towns and player villages. Separate resource and farm worlds let players gather materials without turning the main building areas into mining pits. Jobs, markets, locked storage and chat channels support everyday play.
Jobs and player trading provide the main economic path. Players can sell goods through public markets and shops, complete quests and take part in themed challenges for rewards. Collectibles such as CubeCompanions, heads, particles and special enchantments give longer-term players extra goals beyond equipment.
Custom content includes CubeCompanions, headcases, cosmetic particles, collectible player heads and special enchantments. The server also uses custom quest, event and reward systems to add goals beyond standard Minecraft progression.
Cubeside separates building and resource gathering across several world types. Freebuild is reserved for projects, with plot areas, server cities and player villages adding more organized building spaces. Mining and farming worlds supply renewable gathering areas, while the End has received later expansions.
Combat is concentrated in dedicated modes and events rather than being the whole survival experience. BedWars, 1vs1, SkyWars, Survival Games and Battle Royale events cover different styles, from short fights to team-based matches. Battle Royale events use shrinking borders and begin without a protection period.
The economy uses Cubes for purchases, event plots and player trading. Public markets provide places to sell items, while the newer head market lets players list collectible heads and compare current offers. Player-run shops remain an important part of the survival community.
Events range from creative build contests and Build-Together projects to themed weeks, motto months, summer competitions and community-wide challenge series. Competitive formats include Battle Royale, races, arcade contests and other custom arenas.
Cubeside is a German-speaking community with in-game chat channels, a forum, Discord and TeamSpeak support. Group builds, player villages, public markets and shared challenges make cooperation a major part of the server.
A purchased Minecraft account is required. Players must follow the Cubeside rules and keep chat, builds and community spaces respectful. Harassment, racist, extremist, sexist and discriminatory content is prohibited, and server or community staff can moderate violations.

History of Cubeside
Cubeside opened on April 27, 2011 as a German Minecraft community. From the beginning, the server focused on giving players room to build, trade and play together instead of turning survival into a short race for endgame gear.
Its early survival setup grew around an economy, jobs, markets, player protections for doors and chests, separate chat channels and staff help. Building remained the central activity, but players could also take part in a broader community life outside their own bases.
Over time, Cubeside expanded into a network of connected play areas. Freebuild, plots, server towns, player villages and separate farming or resource worlds gave different projects their own space. Minigames and recurring events added a second way to play when players wanted something shorter or more competitive.
In July 2024, Cubeside added Evolution, a separate nostalgia-focused server that lets players revisit older Minecraft versions while using Cubeside's wider rules and community structure. It became a distinctive side project alongside the modern main network.
During 2025, the server continued adding quest features and moving its worlds through newer Minecraft releases. Daily quest hand-ins and regular world updates gave returning players more reasons to keep working on long-term projects.
The network expanded its Freebuild area in January 2026, later updated its worlds for Minecraft 26.2 and enlarged the End. By August, a dedicated player market for collectible heads had joined the existing shops, while themed months, build events, community challenges and minigames continued to shape the server's current schedule.
Today, Cubeside remains a build-first German survival network with a persistent community around trading, towns, creative projects, side games and seasonal events.
