About CoastSMP
CoastSMP is a shared Survival SMP for Java and Bedrock players. Land claims protect builds, keep-inventory softens the cost of mistakes, and PvP still gives the world some edge. McMMO, economy features, voting rewards, crates, and player alliances add reasons to keep playing after the first base is finished.
The server also leans into custom rewards rather than pure vanilla survival. Players can work through playtime levels, daily rewards, leaderboards, crate tiers, and cosmetic items while exploring custom biomes and structures. It is more structured than an anarchy server, but less rigid than a quiet builder-only SMP.
What Makes It Different
CoastSMP sits between peaceful survival and harsh PvP. Claims and keep-inventory make it easier to build and recover, while McMMO, rewards, economy systems, and player rivalry keep the world from feeling flat.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The server is structured as a shared multiplayer survival world.
Land claims are protected areas that let a player or group control who can build, break, and interact with blocks inside a marked part of the world.
Claim protection is a major part of how players secure builds and property.
Survival servers let players gather resources, craft gear, build shelter, and develop a base while staying alive in a dangerous world.
Survival is the server's primary current game mode.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
PvP is enabled as part of the Survival experience, with specific limits on abuse.
Minecraft economy gameplay makes in-game money a central way to obtain resources, upgrades, or access.
Economy systems, Coins, voting rewards, crates, and player activity support progression.
The main mode is shared Survival with land claims, keep-inventory, McMMO, economy features, and PvP. Custom biomes and structures give exploration more variety than a plain vanilla map. An RTP feature was also part of the server's early gameplay design.
Progression combines McMMO skill growth with playtime levels, daily rewards, voting rewards, leaderboards, crates, and server ranks. The reward path is built around regular activity as well as survival gear and resources.
Custom armor was part of CoastSMP's early feature set. The current reward catalog includes themed crate tiers such as Ender Dragon, Divine Zephyr, Knight, Mythical, Coast, and Plushie, along with wings, bundles, and other cosmetics.
The world includes custom biomes and structures rather than relying only on standard terrain. The early server design also featured RTP that moved players together into new areas, encouraging exploration away from established builds.
PvP is allowed as part of the Survival experience, but TP trapping and killing through lava, mobs, or other mechanics while PvP is disabled are prohibited. Griefing, theft around claims, portal trapping, and claim circumvention are also banned.
CoastSMP has an economy alongside Survival, with coins, crate rewards, voting incentives, and player-driven activity all contributing to progression. The store also sells Coins as a separate server purchase.
King of the Hill, vote parties, daily rewards, and leaderboards have been part of CoastSMP's event and reward layer. These systems give active players more to do beyond mining, building, and trading.
The server uses Discord for community and support, with alliances and friendships forming a major part of the shared-SMP experience. Player comments commonly praise the relaxed atmosphere, helpful players, and easy social play.
The rules prohibit hacking, unfair advantages, macros, minimaps, printer-style building tools, bug abuse, advertising, lag machines, chunk loaders, cannons, mass terrain damage, inappropriate content, and toxic or discriminatory behavior. Survival rules also ban griefing, stealing, TP trapping, portal trapping, bedrock breaking, and bypassing claims. Global chat is English-only.
The official store sells ranks, rank upgrades, crate keys, Coins, bundles, and cosmetics. Purchases are final and non-refundable, and paid ranks do not exempt players from server rules.

History of CoastSMP
CoastSMP was running by November 13, 2024, when its first launch promotion presented it as a newly released SMP. The early project was built around Lifesteal, with Survival planned as a later direction.
That first version already aimed beyond basic vanilla survival. Its advertised feature set included custom biomes and structures, a paired RTP area, King of the Hill, automated key rewards, crates, playtime levels, leaderboards, daily rewards, coinflips, vote parties, and custom armor.
The server's focus later settled around Survival rather than Lifesteal. By the time it was being listed through 2025 and 2026, its main public feature mix centered on PvP, land claims, McMMO, economy systems, keep-inventory, and Java-Bedrock access.
The survival experience grew around protection and social competition. Players could claim land and build with less fear of permanent item loss, while PvP, alliances, trading, voting, and progression systems kept the shared world active.
By 2026, CoastSMP had a full support structure around the server: an official Discord, a named staff team, rank upgrades, crate keys, coins, bundles, cosmetics, and several themed reward tiers. Its current form is a cross-edition survival network that mixes protected building with progression, rewards, and controlled PvP.
