About CatCraft

CatCraft is a semi-vanilla survival server where players gather resources, build lasting homes, explore several Realms, and trade with other players. Helpful tools such as vein mining, tree chopping, claims, homes, pets, and player shops make everyday survival smoother without removing the Minecraft feel.

The main Overworld is designed for long-term builds, while the Resource world, Nether, and End provide fresh terrain and repeatable goals. Seasonal events add puzzles, hunts, bosses, adventure maps, and collectible rewards, giving established players more to do after the usual survival milestones.

What Makes It Different

CatCraft lets players build for the long term without wiping the main Overworld. Fresh Resource, Nether, and End worlds still give explorers new terrain, while events and custom collectibles create extra goals beyond normal survival.

CatCraft Gameplay

Start by gathering wood, food, and basic tools, then travel to the main Overworld and choose a place for your home. Vein mining can break whole ore veins while sneaking, and tree chopping can bring down connected logs quickly. You can set homes, use random teleport, claim land, and visit the market. Extra activities include mazes, pets, custom heads, CatGod collections, dungeons, and seasonal challenges.

PC Gamer included CatCraft among notable Minecraft servers because its close-to-vanilla survival gameplay is built around a permanent Overworld where players can leave lasting builds.

History of CatCraft

CatCraft opened on April 1, 2020, with a focus on survival gameplay that stayed close to vanilla Minecraft while adding practical quality-of-life features. Early seasonal events, including Halloween and Christmas celebrations, helped establish the server's pattern of combining ordinary survival with temporary adventures and collectibles.

By 2021, CatCraft had developed a stronger identity around lasting builds, player protection, custom rarities, and themed events. Pirate Island and Pirate Island 2 introduced large adventure maps with hidden objects, puzzles, mazes, parkour, and treasure rewards. The server also expanded its use of custom textures and special gear.

The 1.19 era brought new resource and Nether resets, fresh biome access, player-requested improvements, pets, chat channels, faster mining tools, and direct player trading. CatCraft's market became a major social feature, with diamond-based chest shops, dedicated shop spaces, and a newspaper-style way to find items sold across a Realm.

In 2023, the server continued expanding its permanent Overworlds while adding themed updates such as StarCats, Easter events, new pets, custom map-art ownership, and the return of Pirate Island. The StarCats event also introduced free collectible weapons earned by gathering materials from different hostile mobs.

The 1.21 update brought larger Overworld borders, fresh Nether and Resource worlds, new custom gear, and a medieval castle siege event. CatCraft's seasonal content increasingly mixed exploration, combat, puzzles, community challenges, and limited cosmetic collections.

During 2024 and 2025, the server ran a steady series of themed updates, including science-fiction, dragon, Halloween, anime, winter, retro, space, and movie-inspired content. These updates added new adventure challenges, temporary event currencies, custom equipment, pets, and collectible rarities while keeping the core survival worlds intact.

CatCraft marked its sixth anniversary in 2026 and continues to run as a persistent, cross-platform survival network. Its current identity combines long-term building, protected land, a diamond marketplace, custom collectible gear, frequent themed events, and regular updates for newer Minecraft releases.
