GermanAbout BTE Germany
Last updated
BTE Germany is the German team of BuildTheEarth, and its goal is huge: all of Germany at a 1:1 scale, where one block is one meter. You can walk through finished cities, jump to real coordinates with /tpll and see builds like the Schwerin Castle and the Berlin Cathedral. The team is currently building in Dresden.
To help, you start on a practice plot. Pick a German state and city, build a real house from map photos, then submit it so a reviewer can score it. After a few good plots you apply to become a builder. No experience is needed, and the team runs in German.
What Makes It Different
It is the German part of the full-size BuildTheEarth map, and the team calls itself the second-largest Build Team in the whole project.
A 1:1 copy of Germany built as part of BuildTheEarth.
Players build real buildings on plots instead of surviving.
Visitors explore finished places, use /warp to jump to a city and /tpll to reach any real latitude and longitude. Builders recreate real buildings from map data on their own plots or in team areas.
New players build practice plots and submit them for review. A reviewer gives points and feedback, and after two or three passing plots you can apply for the builder role.
An official modpack on Modrinth adds tools and speed-ups for building, and builders can use WorldEdit, Axiom and brush tools where they have build rights.
The map follows real height data, so hills and rivers sit where they really are. The team maintains TerraPlusMinus, a plugin that generates the Earth for BuildTheEarth.
During build events, /event takes you straight to the event area.
Everything is organized through the team's German Discord, and the whole team works as volunteers.
Terrain comes from real height data through TerraPlusMinus, a plugin the team maintains for BuildTheEarth.
Builders get FastAsyncWorldEdit, Axiom and brush tools for big jobs like roofs, trees and terrain.
Whole cities are long team projects, and the team is currently working through Dresden.
New players get a plot in a real German city, build it from map photos, and submit it with /plot submit for review.
Use /tpll to jump to any real latitude and longitude, or /warp to visit a finished German city.
Reviewers score your practice plots, and after a few passing ones you can apply for the builder role.
