About Bleeding Heart SMP
Bleeding Heart SMP is a hardcore vanilla-style SMP built around dangerous survival and player-made stories. Death normally removes you from the world, but other players can recover your head and use a revival shrine to bring you back. That makes friendships, rivalries, rescues, and betrayals matter far more than they do on a normal survival server.
The server keeps the game close to Minecraft while adding a few major twists. There is only one mace, crystal PvP is disabled, combat rockets are banned, and custom terrain, trims, elytra trims, and Stasis Rods add new goals without turning the server into a heavily modded pack.
What Makes It Different
Death creates a real social economy. Someone else must recover your head and build a revival shrine, so allies can save you while enemies can keep you out of the world. The single mace adds another layer of history because one player can hold a weapon nobody else can craft once it enters circulation.
Hardcore servers make death a severe, often permanent loss that can end a player’s run or remove them from active play.
Death removes players from normal play unless another player revives them.
Vanilla servers use Minecraft’s original blocks, items, rules, and progression without custom gameplay systems that redefine how players play.
The server preserves core Minecraft mechanics and technical redstone behavior while adding a light custom layer.
A persistent world is a Minecraft server world that keeps its player-made changes and ongoing progress across repeated visits.
The server emphasizes long-term history, no-reset continuity, and consequences that remain meaningful.
An SMP is a multiplayer Minecraft survival world where players gather resources, build, and progress alongside one another.
The server is a shared survival multiplayer world centered on player relationships and settlements.
PvP is Minecraft gameplay centered on direct combat between players.
Player conflict, rivalries, raids, and control of rare items are central to the experience.
The main experience is dangerous survival in one shared world. You travel, build, gather resources, and decide how much of your location or equipment to reveal. The server rewards groups that can protect important items and respond quickly when somebody dies.
Progression is about more than diamond gear. Players work toward rare trims, elytra access, technical infrastructure, the unique mace, and the materials needed for revival shrines. Staying alive is itself a form of progress because death can remove you until another player intervenes.
Custom additions include player-head revival, Revival Shrines, a single mace, custom armor trims, elytra trims, Stasis Rods, custom terrain, custom biomes, and custom structures. The server runs on Fabric with a light custom layer intended to preserve vanilla redstone and technical play.
The current season uses a custom world described as roughly 1M × 1M, with possible future expansion. Custom terrain, biomes, and structures give exploration a different shape from ordinary generated survival. Earlier server eras were known for long-distance Far Lands exploration, while the current map focuses more tightly on designed terrain and player stories.
Crystal PvP is disabled, and rockets cannot be used during combat. Elytras are allowed but deliberately harder to obtain. Fights rely more on positioning, timing, ordinary weapons, traps, terrain, and preparation. Rivalries can grow into raids, assassinations, or fights over a player's head.
The community has used story-driven events and arcs, including Rift and Collector. These events have encouraged players to travel, cooperate, compete, and build shared history beyond ordinary resource grinding.
The social game is built around dependence. Players need trusted allies for rescues, head recovery, trading, and dangerous expeditions, while rival groups can turn the same systems against them. The official Discord is the main community hub for the current season.
Crystal PvP is disabled, and rockets are banned during combat. Vanilla-style technical mechanics such as TNT, gravity-block, and rail duplication are supported. The hardcore death and revival rules are central to how the server is played.
The official store sells supporter packages, including a one-month VIP+ pass. The server is presented as non-pay-to-win, with purchases supporting hosting, maintenance, future features, and events rather than granting combat loot.

History of Bleeding Heart SMP
Bleeding Heart SMP opened on December 9, 2025 as a Fabric-based hardcore vanilla server. Its first season combined permanent death with a revival system, giving other players a way to recover a fallen player's head and return them to the world. Far Lands exploration, technical redstone, and a single unique mace were part of the server's early appeal.
The first season leaned into semi-anarchy survival. Players formed alliances, traded valuable heads, fought over rare resources, and built reputations that carried from one encounter to the next. Death was not just a personal setback; it created a problem for friends to solve and an opportunity for rivals to exploit.
Fabric was an important technical choice from the beginning. TNT duplication, gravity-block duplication, rail duplication, and complex redstone machinery were intended to behave much like they do in vanilla Minecraft. That opened the door to large technical builds, including the server's famous orbital-strike-cannon concept.
The server moved to Minecraft 1.21.11 during the early 2026 season. Community activity also grew beyond ordinary survival, with recurring events and story arcs such as Rift and Collector giving players reasons to gather, travel, and take sides.
On August 15, 2026, Bleeding Heart SMP reopened with a fresh map and revised systems. The relaunch introduced custom terrain, new biomes and structures, custom armor and elytra trims, Stasis Rods, and a current map described as roughly 1M × 1M with room for future expansion.
The current season keeps the server's main rules intact: hardcore death, player-controlled revival, a single mace, no crystal PvP, no combat rockets, and a strong focus on vanilla mechanics. It now presents those ideas through a more deliberately designed world rather than the rougher first-season map.
