About Altitude
Altitude is built for players who want long-term survival without the chaos of an unprotected anarchy server. You make a home, claim it with a golden shovel, trade through player shops, and use the live map to find claims, warps, and other builds.
McMMO adds fifteen skill lines and special abilities, while MyPet turns captured mobs into trainable companions. PvP is optional, but unclaimed buildings can be looted or removed, so land protection still matters. A separate creative server offers 100-by-100 plots for testing builds.
What Makes It Different
Altitude keeps the social side of survival in focus. Claims and optional PvP make it calmer than anarchy, while McMMO, MyPet, and player shops give regular play a reason to keep going.
Fifteen McMMO skill lines, abilities, and skill rewards provide a substantial progression layer during normal survival play.
ChestShop stores and shop warps support recurring player-to-player buying and selling.
GriefPrevention claims made with golden shovels protect player homes and builds from other players and environmental damage.
The main experience is long-term survival involving resource gathering, building, exploration, and base development.
Players share a persistent community world with towns, player-built projects, cooperation, and social interaction.
Players use in-game money for shops, direct payments, claim blocks, and other survival-related transactions.
The server adds useful travel and social tools without replacing the survival feel. Players can use /home, /back, /dback, /tpa, /warps, parties, local chat, and the live map. Loot chests cannot normally be broken unless a player deliberately enables that action.
McMMO gives long-term players fifteen skills to level through normal play, with abilities and special rewards tied to each skill. MyPet adds another path through captured mobs, pet skill trees, combat abilities, item pickup, and movement boosts. Claim blocks can be bought or sold with in-game money.
Community-requested plugins add McMMO, MyPet, town warps, map-art tools, armor-stand editing, particles, and other utility commands. MyPet companions can fight mobs, collect items, and provide movement-related abilities.
The survival world is shown on a Dynmap with claims and warps. Altitude has historically created a new world for most major Minecraft releases, except 1.16. The separate creative server uses 100-by-100 plots for building and testing.
Players can use /pvp on or /pvp off to control their own PvP status. TNT and creepers damage unclaimed land, while claimed land protects builds from that damage. Unclaimed buildings can still be looted, claimed, or removed.
Altitude uses a player-focused economy built around ChestShop stores and direct payments. Spawn shops sell basic ores, food, and building blocks at higher prices, encouraging players to trade with one another instead. Players can apply for warps that send visitors directly to their shops or towns.
Community events are a recurring part of Altitude, including monthly events.
Altitude welcomes players of all ages but is aimed toward an older audience. The community is organized through Discord, with a blog for news and announcements. Players can also find help in-game from staff and other regulars.
Use GriefPrevention claims for protection. Unclaimed buildings may be looted, claimed, or removed, and items lost in unprotected areas are not restored. Players can choose their PvP status with the server's PvP toggle.
The web store sells paid ranks and boosters. Purchases help cover hosting, web-store, artwork, and custom-plugin costs. A community goal can activate a 24-hour 2x McMMO XP booster.
MyPet lets players capture and train mobs through pet skill trees, combat abilities, item pickup, and movement-related boosts.
Players use /pvp on or /pvp off to control their own PvP status, while unclaimed buildings remain vulnerable to looting or removal.
Altitude's Dynmap shows the survival world together with player claims, warps, and other builds for navigation and discovery.
Unclaimed buildings on Altitude may be looted, claimed, or removed, and items lost in unprotected areas are not restored.
Players can apply for warps leading directly to their towns or shops, helping visitors reach community destinations and businesses.

History of Altitude
Altitude opened in January 2015 as a private Minecraft server for a small group of friends. In its early days, it provided a shared survival world for that close-knit group.
The server later opened to anyone looking for a more social survival home. As more players joined, the world developed beyond individual bases. Players built communities, traded resources, and shaped their own settlements.
Early in the 1.13 era, growing activity led Altitude beyond a single server. It added two survival servers with the same features but different seeds, giving players separate worlds to explore while keeping the gameplay familiar.
The network continued to expand during that period, eventually reaching four survival servers. Across these worlds, land claims, player interaction, and survival progression remained important parts of play. McMMO, MyPet, Dynmap, and ChestShop added skills, companions, mapping, and player-run commerce.
As interest in Minecraft cooled, the larger network was gradually reduced. Altitude returned to two servers for the 1.18 era, then consolidated again to one server for 1.20. The changes reduced the number of worlds without moving away from community survival.
The server now runs a 1.21.10 survival server alongside a separate creative server. Survival includes claims, towns, player shops, optional PvP, and a live map, giving players tools for protected building, cooperation, trade, and exploration.
Creative plots provide a separate place to build and test ideas safely. Together, the two servers continue Altitude’s progression from a private friends-only world into a community survival network with an additional space for creative building.
