AddstarMC began as one family's home server and grew into a full network. Pick a mode from the hub: explore and claim land in Survival, grow a floating island in Skyblock, hop across a grid of blocks over the void in SkyGrid, mine your way to parole in Prison, or risk your only life in Hardcore. Minigames, Survival Games, Community Parkour and Creative Plots fill the gaps.
The server is heavily moderated, chat is filtered and English only, and swearing is not allowed. Builds are protected with land claims, and griefs can be rolled back. Java and Bedrock players join with no whitelist.
What Makes It Different
A family-run network that has kept the same family-friendly rules since 2012, with history, stats and yearly Wrapped summaries the community can look back on.
HC1 and HC2 are hardest-difficulty worlds where you only have one life.
Mine through each mine to unlock the next and reach parole.
Creative Plots, a flat plot world for building.
A large Survival world for exploring, mining and claiming land, now on 1.21.
Start on a tiny floating island and work through tiers of challenges.
A games world with Blockhunt, Capture the Flag, Murder Mystery, Skywars and more.
Each mode has its own world. Survival, Skyblock, SkyGrid and Prison share reward keys you open at /rewards, and several modes have market worlds full of player shops.
Hardcore runs two separate worlds, HC1 and HC2, both reset on 1.21.11 in March 2026. Skyblock moved to 1.21.11 by early April 2026 without a reset, and you can now respawn and fight your own Ender Dragon.
Players earn money through jobs and sell from their own shops in market worlds. Shops of players gone over 90 days drop their prices by 2% a day until the owner returns.
Regular events have included Games Day, build competitions, Place and Hardcore seasons, and a yearly Wrapped shows each player's stats.
No swearing, no griefing or stealing, and English only in chat. Only OptiFine, capes, minimaps and shaders are allowed as mods, and builds of players offline over 120 days may be removed.
Stone, Iron, Gold, Diamond and Emerald keys open random rewards at /rewards on Survival, Skyblock, SkyGrid and Prison.
Staff can roll back griefing, so damaged builds can be put back.
The Hardcore worlds run on the hardest difficulty and wipe your progress when you die.
Market worlds are full of player shops, and shops of players away over 90 days drop 2% in price each day.
Grief Prevention claims protect your builds, and the wiki links video guides on how to claim.
One hub links Survival, Skyblock, SkyGrid, Prison, Hardcore, minigames, Survival Games, Community Parkour and Creative Plots.
A flat Creative world split into plots that donators can claim for building.
The Jobs plugin pays in-game money for job tasks, and you can hold up to three jobs at once.
The Observatory and stats pages track minigames, Hardcore and Unscramble, and a yearly Wrapped sums up your year.

History of AddstarMC
AddstarMC started in early 2012 when a family playing together could not find a server they liked. In March 2012 their home server became a Bukkit server, and by August the first real survival world opened.
The server moved to Australian hosting in 2013, became a network with a hub and True Hardcore in 2014, and held a player meetup at Luna Park in Sydney. Prison opened in 2017. Rough patches came too: a crash in December 2017 and database trouble in April 2018 took it offline for weeks.
It passed 100,000 unique players in 2019, appeared at CubeCon in 2025, and ended that year past 125,000. In March 2026 HC1 and HC2 reset on 1.21.11, and Skyblock followed within weeks.
